Yeah, I was highly skeptical but he seems legit. He doesn't try to be what he isn't, and sticks to playing within his skill set, unlike a lot of hyped younger players, so that goes a long way towards his success.

They are unquestionably stacked, but my view of the franchise is very jaded.

Their owner is hot garbage who stole a franchise from Seattle, their arena was a ghost town when they were not competitive, and Sam Presti has been given leeway that almost no other GM has been allowed (largely because his owner is cheap as hell).

Presti badly bungled the Durant/Harden/Westbrook core, the roster had a load of young talent and THREE young players who would win MVP awards, Presti traded harden over a couple million in salary, he lost Durant for nothing... he did fleece the Rockets for Westbrook, the team went into the abyss... any other GM gets canned, deservedly so, but the OKC owner is a cheapskate, so Presti kept the salary low while the team was awful and kept his job.

This OKC team should run the decade with the load of picks they have and the talent on the roster, but their trash owner is going to run them like the Oakland As. They are going to bleed talent, year after year.

I live here by a set of personal rules:

1. Don’t attack someone on a personal level. I may argue with your position. I may point out where I believe your perspective to be flawed. But other than the politics and religion board I would never just call any poster an “awful” person. I think that’s anti-ASFN community.
2. I don’t gratuitously involve anyone into a conversation if they’re not involved. And I certainly wouldn’t do it merely to take a shot at them. I might ask someone’s opinion on a topic in which they aren’t involved because I know they have a different background or thoughts on the topic, but that’s it.
