Tennessee redshirt senior pole vaulter Cade Gray posted a career best mark Friday at the at the Doc Hale Invitational, hosted by Virginia Tech Friday.
Gray cleared 5.68 meters (18-7.5) and now owns a top mark in the SEC for the 2025-26 season. His leap is ranked sixth in the NCAA this season. He also moved up to third on the program's top indoor list for the event, which features five current Vol pole vaulters under the direction of assistant coach Kyle Ellis.
The Vols and Lady Vols also claimed four victories in the sprints and hurdles on Friday.
Tennessee junior Skye Tolbert won the women's 60 meter hurdles at Virginia Tech (8.24 seconds).
Serges Taha won in his collegiate debut in the 60 meter hurdles (7.73), followed by Kalib Branch (7.75).
In the 60 meter dash, Lady Vols' Lauren Jarrett earned a win at Virginia Tech (7.32). For the Vols, freshman Cole Cramer won the 60 meter dash at the Windy City Invitational in Chicago, Illinois with a time of 6.65.
Tennessee's Igor Olaru finished third in the men's weight throw, recording a personal best 21.94 meters (71-11.75) His mark ranks fifth in program history and 11th nationally this season.
