Tennessee records eight qualifying times at SEC Indoor Championships

Tennessee's indoor track and field teams combined to record eight qualifying marks on Day 2 of the SEC Indoor Championships, hosted by Texas A&M, in Bryan-College Station, Texas.

In the women's 60 meter hurdles, defending SEC champion Myreanna Bebe qualified for Saturday's championship final as she crossed the finish line in 7.96 seconds, her best time of the season. She will be in her second consecutive SEC final. Bebe will be joined in the final by teammate Skye Tolbert, who posted a time of 8.15, the ninth fastest time in program history.

In the women's 800 meter run, Lady Vols' Ka'Mayya Haywood qualified for Saturday's championship race (2:05.97).

In the women's 400 meter dash, Tennessee's Javonya Valcourt advanced to the final as she won her heat with a time of 52.29 and she will be in the championship final for the second time.

In the women's mile run, Mary Nyaboke Ogwoka recorded a time of 4:43.01 in Friday's preliminary round.

The Vols had a pair of athletes qualify in the men's mile run as Nelson Mapi Setek won his heat with a time of 4:03.01, while Gavin Genisio finished his heat with a time of 4:03.37.

Tennessee's Traunard Folson recorded the seventh fastest preliminary time i n the men's 60 meter, crossing the finish line in 6.62 seconds.

The SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships will conclude on Saturday.
