Dec. 28—BRAINERD — Two Lumberjacks scored victories for the Bemidji High School boys swimming and diving team Saturday.
Tanner Johnson won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:53.42, two seconds faster than the field. He was one place away from another win in the 500 freestyle (5:14.62), finishing second. Along with Brayden Anderson, Matthew Winkle and Kyle Yoder, Johnson finished third in the 400 freestyle relay (3:38.80).
Crockett Puschinsky clinched the other victory for the Jacks with a score of 184.40 on the one meter dive.
Winkle, Anderson, Abraham Benson and William Lohse placed third in the opening 200 medley relay event with a time of 1:48.68. Winkle placed second in the 100 backstroke (1:01.51). Anderson would also finish third in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.22).
As a team, BHS finished third out of four teams. Brainerd and Waconia would finish first and second, respectively.
