The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships ATP singles final was slated to be played on Saturday between Daniil Medvedev and Tallon Griekspoor. Tallon Griekspoor was limping into the final after struggling to walk during his semifinal match against Andrey Rublev.
Adding to the uncertainty, the final was scheduled to occur at 10:00 AM EST, amid reports of air strikes in Dubai. People were reportedly fleeing the area. as a result of Iran’s retaliatory attacks on the US-Israel military attacks.

This is the second time in a week where political and military unrest threatened tennis. Everyone was reeling in Mexico last weekend amid violence in Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara, raising concerns for players at the Merida Open and Acapulco Open.
The doubles final between Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten against Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic is underway with few fans in the stands.
Daniil Medvedev did something that he surprisingly has not done in his career. He won the same tournament for the second time. The former World No. 1 has won 22 titles but famously in different tournaments.
At 30, this is his first repeat win.
