I like Tyler but I do not want to get too attached with his almost $20 million salary next season.
Oh I agree the contract sucks but he's a good player. I admit to bias he's a local kid for me.

You guys still not that high on Tyler Johnson? I thought his drawing that flagrant on Livingston turned the game. Obviously Booker just went nuts after that, but I really thought the Warriors were going to pull away and win by double digits until he made that play. He is a tough guy played very tough with Curry.
Nice win, Ayton had a huge offensive rebound there late.
Igor's odds of being coach next season have probably quadrupled in the last 2 weeks.
And I was wrong about Oubre, he's going to be a pricey resigning. He's been much more consistent than I thought he would be.

Not the PG we need. I’d rather pay T.J. McConnel $6mil/year than max out Russell.
Tyler can be our PG his D is insane. It changes tempo and the game
He doesn't have the sweetest shot and at times takes an I'll advised shot, but he's helped fuel this run the team is on. Andre is also responding well to him and is the recipient of some good set up feeds. No denying TJ's physicality on D. GREAT W tonight, first since 2011 over there. Rest of the season will be great to watch.Tyler can be our PG his D is insane. It changes tempo and the game
not at 19 million bucks. But he's definitely a solid role player. If we somehow ended up with the 2nd pick in the draft, I'd be okay with drafting Ja, letting him develop with Johnson and Book in the backcourt until he's ready to go and focusing on a PF in FA.
I agree 100%IMO Tyler Johnson is the main reason this team has turned it around.
His ball handling and defense and experience were greatly needed.
He's not a great offensive player, but he is just good enough to keep the D honest.
Tyler is just a guard he's not a 1 or a 2. But yeah hes a tough kid, so is his younger brother Logan who's a freshman guard at Cincy.

We can argue Johnson's strengths and weaknesses, but the euphemisms have to stop. It isn't that "he's not a great offensive player." He is a terrible offensive player, and his ball handling is barely better than Booker's.
I don't know what the PG solution is, but Johnson isn't it. This was a great win tonight, but the main reason the Suns won is that the Warriors were terrible from the three-point line. Johnson didn't have anything to do with that.
Russell will get the max from someone and isn't a great fit in Phoenix because he's a low-efficiency combo guard who looks for his own shot first.
McConnell is awful, and should be disqualified for having the same last name as the senator, even if there's no relationship.
The Suns' best hope is to keep their ears open for trades. Maybe Jackson can play well enough over the last few games to become a trade target, but that's asking for a lot.

Bridges has been steady all year on the defensive side, imo. His shot left for a while and now that the team is playing together, it's returned more.FWIW Jim Barnett said exactly that on the telecast about why Phoenix's defense has suddenly gotten better. He said it was a combination of Johnson and Oubre. I forget the exact wording but he basically said the Suns went from having zero above average defenders in the lineup to having 2 by getting those guys.
Also very impressed with Bridges tonight he had a huge 3 and played good defense too.
Tyler's best in transition and going to the rim, with Ayton in the post I think that gets negated a bit, but he can really guard and I would expect his FG% to move back up closer to where its' normally been before he got to Phoenix. I totally agree he's overpaid I guess IMO that's something you just have to deal with unless that money is going to stop the Suns from signing or retaining a better player. I'm not familiar enough with your payroll to answer that question.
