Which leaves the remaining amount to fill 5-7 remaining roster spots instead of 6-8. And that doesn't count the 2, possibly 3, roster spots already taken up by players who don't belong in the NBA.

Trades are the only way to get this team out of this mess.

If there was a way to use Tyler Johnson's contract to land multiple players who can contribute... I'd be all ears. I just don't see it. IMO, we'd be better off using that the 20-25 million to sign a few depth guys. Obviously it leaves several roster spots on minimum contracts, but that is hardly unusual.

Now... if I were to guess what will LIKELY happen? I think Sarver/Jones are going to engage in some sort of panic trade. Something that yields short term results at long term expense.

Aaron Gordon's value isn't all that high, he certainly isn't playing up to his contract value. They get 20 million in savings next year, a pick and a young... but lousy player. I don't think anyone is going to blow the doors off in a Gordon trade.

Instead of countering and balancing all of the soft, unathletic players who can maybe score and not much else on draft night, he went and compounded it by adding Kaminsky to the mix and bringing in zero help in terms of athleticism, defense, rim protection and toughness. And he continues to make statements indicating his belief that the NBA is about scoring and nothing else. And he continues to make statements that undercut Monty's efforts to develop Ayton and evolve his game.

Well, I would put the odds of Jones getting fired in the next year and a half at roughly 0%. You can either hope he learns or hope he gets sent to prison or something. Debating him getting fired is a pointless exercise.

I will say that if we somehow pull off a Gordon trade like you propose, and if we draft, say, Vernon Carey or Isaiah Stewart with our lottery pick, our front court looks a heck of a lot better, and all we would need going forward are a a couple of back-ups at the 4/5 (with Ayton, Gordon and Carey/Stewart being a good and versatile foundation for our 5 interior spots), a back-up 2 and a back-up 1.

Of course, I don't trust James Jones to get us close to this kind of resolution, and I fully expect him to continue obsessing over unathletic, one-dimensional soft scorers like Saric, Kaminsky and Cam (and, perhaps not so coincidentally, James Jones from his playing days). Heck, we are already seeing that obsession again with respect to Gallinari.

I just checked. It's true. The Suns as a whole have only had one longer winning streak in the last five seasons - Four games last December, with Booker being inactive for the first.

We did have a 4 game win streak last year, but he missed the first game. I suppose you could say that he wasn't a part of the full 4 game streak, but he certainly was on the team to experience all of it.

Over the last 10 games, Kelly Oubre Jr. is averaging 20.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 steals while shooting 40.3% on 3s.

Oubre is really starting to blossom into a key long-term piece for this Suns team. Always providing that much-needed energy boost on both ends.

Mikal's defense is money and it's only getting better.

What I especially like, he is scoring off a variety of shots and not reliant on the 3 pointer.
