Wonder what the buyout market will look like. Certainly a few names have been mentioned already (Conley, etc), but none seem to be obvious targets for the Suns.

side note:

they have to be happy with how maluach is developing considering he's one injury away now

I haven't seen much of an indicator, though. It may be more the Suns are content to roll with what they have.

he's doing better at staying within himself - committing less fouls - cleaner passes - but it's all about defense for ott

Some unofficial numbers on the money the Suns saved, making the trade.

Not likely anyone that is good enough to get playing time.

I think the team we have been watching is the one we have for the rest of the year, plus hopefully some good Jalen Green minutes.

A player like Chris Boucher would get playing time if bought out, but salary might be a hindrance.

Trading Nick Richards opens up the third string backup Center spot for Khaman Maluach. The Suns also by getting under the first apron and tax and with one roster spot available can now sign anyone in regard to salary in the buyout market. In the past they were limited in which players they could target in the buyout market now that restriction is lifted.

Feels like the difference between where we are today and where we were at this time just a year ago is unprecedented. We had the highest payroll in the entire league just 12 months ago!

That was the best I can do guys.. I was able to swing NHD and Richards for SGA but the league denied it..

Gambo said Cole Anthony will go and we keep Coffee.. I hope we can find a PF in the buyout market.

I didn't really expect the Suns to do anything of consequence... so I guess you can't say I was disappointed. :D

That was a good trade. I was never a big fan of Anthony Cole but he can hardly contribute less than Richards and if he has a good day, he can offer some spark from the bench, although he will have a tough time to steal playing time from Goodwin and Bouyea.

Coffee was not a bad backup/3rd string wingman in LA.

On a serious note..

Just my opinion.. I thought we didn’t win this trade. It was nice to get under the tax but I wish we got back draft picks.

I know NHD and Richards was out of the rotation. I know they are not guys who will get us a star in return but I feel the Bucks will get more out of NHD and Richards versus us getting anything out of Cole and Coffee..

I guess I want my cake and to eat it..

Why have cake and not eat it?

IIRC, he played well for the Clippers so he might surprise.

I always want more but it's probably the best trade out there that solved the luxury tax issue and added quality depth, even if it is at guard/forward position.
