Saved money, reset the repeater clock. Would I want more for Nick. Sure. But time to move on. Sometimes the market just isn't there. Coffey can shoot and plays D. Can't have too many 3 and Ders.

The other guy will get cut.

richards did us right - there were several teams interested in richards - i think we made sure he was going somewhere he wanted and would play in return - class act

i never really got a take on nhd but wish him well too

On a serious note..

Just my opinion.. I thought we didn’t win this trade. It was nice to get under the tax but I wish we got back draft picks.

I know NHD and Richards was out of the rotation. I know they are not guys who will get us a star in return but I feel the Bucks will get more out of NHD and Richards versus us getting anything out of Cole and Coffee..

I guess I want my cake and to eat it..

Why have cake and not eat it?
We wouldn’t be able to have Bouyea for the playoffs if we didn’t do this trade.

No I understood why we had to do it.. I just wish we could have got a pick out of it. It was like we gave away better talent than what we got back just to dump them. Just felt we could have got a little more. Thats all.

We're lucky we didn't have to give up a pick.

Phoenix ducks the tax

Phoenix is under the tax! Now we just wait on the Nuggets to amend their inevitable move. If Milwaukee made this trade without getting any draft picks in return, that is a deeply questionable choice.

Suns will generate a $5 million trade exception for Nick Richards and a $2.1 million exception for Nigel Hayes-Davis. Don't spend it all in one place, kids.

So if the other guy gets cut, that would open another spot for possibly signing Livers.

We were lucky to NOT give up a pick. We traded two guys no one wanted, and didn't have to give up draft compensation. You could look at it that we "gained" a pick by not having to trade one away. Usually the side that jettisons salary always has to give away a pick.

Didn’t Richards name come up in trade talks? I thought the Suns received calls.

Maybe I just thought too highly of our players.

There were rumors we were going to trade him to get under the luxury tax to not be repeat offender penalty. So all kind of rumors. But he lasted all the way to the trade deadline with us, so probably not that much interest.

Value really had nothing to do with this. I'm actually surprised we didn't give Richards away for just a bad 2nd rounder actually.

If only the Suns had more dollars to spend while still staying below the luxury tax threshold.

Phoenix sent $4.5mil to Milwaukee in the recent trade.

Sounds like we'd have been better off declining his option before the season. It's not my money but I wish the front office played things a little smarter. With rumors of a 2nd or multiple 2nd rounders being out there for months, I'd be curious to know what the legitimate best offers were. Maybe Caffey or Anthony end up being Ott guys though, which makes it more palatable.

The Suns may view Amir Coffey as an upgrade over NHD.

With AZ luck Williams will get hurt and the bust ManMan is going to have to play

Calling ManMan a bust is ridiculous. The team has taken it's time developing him. He's 19 and raw, sure, but no one projected him as a player ready for big NBA minutes on a legit playoff team.

When he was picked I doubt anyone and me thought he would be getting zero Min.

I was super high on him but viewed him as a backup or insurance this year because of how raw he was. I also thought we'd finish around 31 wins, maybe fighting for a 10th seed in the play-in. We're better, Williams has been healthy, and Oso has been solid. All of those things allow us to bring ManMan along slowly in the G-League. That doesn't make him a bust that means the jury is still out.
