Yep he’s vastly overrated on here. His shot is ugly. Even his go to shot is ugly.
Well I agree, I have never really liked his game - but I thought the Suns were kind of high on him.

A little more detail on his injury history:

Rookie year

  • Reportedly played in the G league (they had Mason Plumlee, Kai Jones, and Nick Richards) for some of the year
  • 11/17/22-11/20/22: L ankle sprain
  • 12/5/22-12/29/22: L ankle sprain
  • 3/10/23-3/24/23: R thumb dislocation
  • 1 game in April: L ankle sprain
  • Offseason: thumb surgery for torn ligament
Year 2

  • 12/3/23-12/8/23: Lower back contusion
  • 12/10/23-rest of the season: Out (presumably same injury)
Year 3 (this year)

  • 10/19/24-11/25/24 and 11/27/24-12/3/24: Unspecified foot injury (assuming the same L foot unspecified tendon strain)
  • 12/8/24-12/14/23: Rest (probably for the foot)
  • 1/17/25-1/18/25: Unspecified knee injury
  • 1/26/25-2/1/25: L foot tendon management

Well, I don't think it would be the worst thing if he failed the physical again. Which means we should check out who Charlotte picks at 29.

He is good when he plays - like legit starter good. Apparently he doesn't even play half the games though - and we don't need a starter now - this appears really dumb
But the injuries are all different. If the back is chronic I’ll agree with you. But if these are just random sundry injuries a 29th and likely late 20s pick is worth his talent.

Again, 15/11/2.5 in 26 mins. If he gets healthy and can play 30-36 he’s likely a 17/12/3 guy. And a legit 7 footer. And he’s 23. I dig this deal.

Tells me Nick Richards is long gone. Thinking we might want Oso to go more 4 than 5 as well. He develops any kind of jumpshot, that's what he'll be. Big "if" though.
If oso is smart he spends every dollar on a shooting coach and every minute this offseason shooting and lifting.

What’s the best ability? Availability

Never played more than 44 games in a season and already has an injury sheet a mile long at 23.

LOL

Maluach isn't automatically our starter now. Where do you get that from? It's not like he's the #1 pick.
Right. He’s very raw. I love his upside and the pick. But that dude ain’t ready to play yet. Look at his face. He’s still carrying around his baby fat. And he’s still learning basketball. I love double dipping at the center spot.

How does it make sense to spend 2 vary scarce first rounders on a backup center when we have no forwards?

You realize Dillon Brooks is our PF right now right?
