I also think Peat will see minutes even without injuries to frontcourt players.

On topic, I like what I've seen of Highsmith. I think he plays smaller than Jae Crowder, and I think he can cover most SGs. Will be interesting to see. Everyone should compete for playing time. Many players have a chance to earn rotation minutes I think. A shame we have to wait so long for Suns basketball again...

miles bridges and koa peat are not 3andD - thus they are not interchangeable with brooks - fleming - dunn - highsmith

thus they will not be competing for 3andD minutes- but koa likely won't play for awhile

there's only basic food groups in jordan ott's diet

guard - 3andD - power foward - center

we only have 2 power forwards and 3 centers - the rest is guard/3andD - that's who will be competing for minutes

fleming dunn highsmith competing
kennard spencer ye competing

I don’t know how you can include power forward for ott. He didn’t play one consistently last year. He basically made 2-3-4 interchangeable except when he played Fleming which was inconsistent and then nonexistent in the playoffs. You’re projecting the power forward rather than relying on what was last season. I think it’s three food groups: guard, wing, center.

This year he’s got three guys that can be classified as power forwards in bridges, Fleming and peat. If one is in the floor at all times I’d agree that he’s graduated that role to a new food group.

we only have 2 power forwards - koa is one of them - his interior paint game is damn near nba ready - why would i want injuries and why would you ask that lol

The Suns have multiple players who can play power forward though, among them Bridges, Fleming, Peat, Brooks, Highmith and sometimes Goodwin.

we didn't have any power forwards last year - zero - zilch - nada

if fleming is shooting around or over 38% from deep he is the definition of 3andD - poster child - webster's dictionary

both bridges and koa's game revolves around contact in the paint - they are power forwards - height aint nothing but a thing - idc if fleming is taller - not if fleming is banging the 3 and koa peat is posting up in the paint

only miles and koa can do the lebron/zion - they are the only two bull dozers we have - the only one's who can power foward

I want the beef as much as anyone, probably more, but I don't want to get stuck in position labels.

What they need most is improved defense and stopping the opponent's free path to the basket.

Oso can what Peat can better right now. He is bigger and a better passer. Koa will not play

.
No, he absolutely can't. If you think Oso can do more things, fine, but if you're really suggesting Oso can give us anything Peat can, I'd definitely disagree. Oso does a lot of good things out there and they have one very similar killer weakness but Peat is a true inside weapon, something Oso will likely never become.

If this were the 80's, Peat would have been a top 10 pick and he would have been starting from day one. He's a complete player, minus that outside shot, and he'd be a huge star in an era where bigs don't have to shoot from distance. In this era though, I have no idea what his ceiling is but his floor puts him above half the league already IMO.

Outside shooting is a big skill to be lacking and it might ultimately keep him from superstardom but in two years time, he will be a serious upgrade from Miles IMO and he needs minutes to make that happen.

Oso can not defend guards or keep up with quicker players on the perimeter. Oso also lacks true ability to create offense for himself as he gets stopped and passes often because he can't shoot outside of 8 feet. Even 8 feet is generous. Peat is a poor shooter from deep but he attempts them and isn't scared to shoot. Koa is a forward and Oso is a Center and that's based on their game more than their size. Oso is not a PF or small ball C as he is a 7 footer. Until he develops a jumper he won't be more and it's unlikely he does based on what he's shown.

I think Ott didn’t have the options to play a PF now he does

Yep. When we were whole, Royce played the 4 pretty well. But he's not a good enough player at the 4 spot to survive any real defensive attention. So when we were playing at less than full strength, it wasn't difficult to shut Royce down. Hopefully that won't be the case with Miles or Koa out there and especially not when we have Maluach playing.
