In a brand-new trade prediction, the Pittsburgh Steelers send Alex Highsmith away to the NFC West, striking a deal with the San Francisco 49ers for draft capital.

In our Steelers Wire prediction, Highsmith and a 2028 sixth-round pick are sent to the 49ers in exchange for a 2027 second-round pick, which matches reports of Pittsburgh's preferred asking price.

The deal is a win-win for both sides, as the 49ers land a standout pass rusher to pair with Nick Bosa, while the Steelers acquire premium draft capital for what should be a 2027 class loaded with talent.

Highsmith, who was selected by the Steelers in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, missed mandatory minicamp following Nick Herbig's massive extension worth $100 million. While it was reported that Highsmith was due to miss it because of an "illness," the trade rumors were already running rampant.

Last week, NFL insider Jason La Canfora linked Highsmith to four potential landing spots, including the 49ers, which played heavily into our trade prediction.
