been wrapping my hippie brain around these moves - and i think i get it?
not only did grayson and oneale cancel eachother out as far as size and skillset goes - but we also upgraded when we got dillon brooks
dillon's 3 ball isn't as nice as royce or grayson's but dillon knocks them down when it's important - i think his percentage goes up with the intensity of the game
but that's 3 guys - all small forwards (at best) playing power forward because rasheer wasn't ready
we needed a real power forward - we needed to clear cap space - we needed to unlock the first round draft pick - this was 3 birds with one stone
i think we were gonna pay royce 10 million this year and grayson around 18 million
i believe we will be paying miles 22 million (extension pending) and kennard 6.5
that's a wash but it also got us our first round pick back
kennard is easy - he's here to shoot 3s - im thinking both sides agreed he needs to shoot a lot more because you don't pass up on shots AND play for jordan ott
i think kennard saw all the career 3 numbers coming out of phoenix - with a very unselfish devin booker leading the cast - i suspect luke kennard chose us over numerous suiters and probably for less money because 6.5 was all we could offer at this time
rasheer and koa aren't starter ready but i think they'll speed up the process competing for minutes behind miles bridges while watching miles bridges make his bread by going to the rim
again - i think koa is coming in ahead of where rasheer was - rasheer has a better 3 ball but we want to bang inside and out
this all goes to say the hippie is indeed staying with the 50 win prediction - if
@Raindog is cool with it the bet can proceed as designed
miles makes us better but we also should theoretically have williams at the end of the season - with a more seasoned maluach helping to manage mark's minutes
this is going to be a super interesting year - this roster can do it all on both sides of the ball
every tool is in the tool box plus jordan ott had the offseason to think about his rookie year and what he could've done differently - i imagine there's a few nights he wishes he had back but i'm still 100% in on jordan ott
and hey - we have first round draft picks again - they might be lousy and thrice recycled but at least we won't have to move up to see who slips through the draft - lol we'll be right there - last pick locos forever!
