Suns forward Amare Stoudemire on Thursday was named the Rookie of the Month from the Western Conference for the second time this season.
Stoudemire, who averaged 14 points and 7 rebounds in April, scored in double figures in eight of nine games and helped the Suns clinch the eighth seed in the Western Conference playoffs. He also won the award in January.
Over the final five games of the season Stoudemire averaged 16.4 points on .552 shooting from the field, along with 7.0 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.8 blocks in 28.2 minutes
Stoudemire is the first Suns player to earn the rookie monthly honor twice in one season and this is only the fourth Rookie of the Month won by a Suns player since the award's inception. Other Suns to win the honor were Kevin Johnson in April 1988 and Armon Gilliam in January 1988
Didn't KJ Play for the Cavs his rookie year????
