Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers started off their day with some potentially bad news, as veteran defensive tackle Cameron Heyward posted a cryptic image on social media that some speculate could be a retirement tease.
On Sunday morning, Heyward took to X and posted an animated image of someone closing a book, which sent fans into a frenzy as they wondered if the longtime Steelers defensive lineman was ready to call it quits.
In 2025, Heyward continued to defy Father Time and was named Second-Team All-Pro for the second time in his career.
At 36 years old, Heyward’s future has been called into question over the past several offseasons. But if he were ever going to close the chapter on his NFL career, it would make perfect sense to do so after Mike Tomlin stepped down as head coach of the Steelers.
