With Ozzie Guillén seeing his No. 13 jersey retired this past Saturday, the White Sox now have 12 players so honored, plus Jackie Robinson at No. 42. While that may seem like a whole lot of jerseys taken out of commission, it amounts to just one number retired per decade.
It is somewhat a topic of the moment, so this week’s question centers on the next number retired, and you’ll see below that there’s a bit of a twist to this one — honoring an important and unheralded White Sox figure who never played in a game on the field.
