I'd wager this is a Kyler limitation, vs a Kliff playcalling one.

They ran this play in that same game that they should have used in this situation:

Hell they could have still passed it if they wanted to with a play action and it would have been better.

Marcus Spears is dead on with this:

"Vance Joseph, when are you going to do something (about Simmons struggling without making any adjustments)? Because the frustration with your player (Simmons) becomes it permeates throughout the rest of the defense."

"You come out of training camp knowing that you are playing the KC Chiefs and you make no adjustments throughout the course of the game."

WELL SAID!!!!!
Not sure he knows what adjustments to make and how to make them. He seems like a "the system works" kinda coach.

Shaun King agrees with you.

I also read where Ertz, who's the receiver Jason Brown is saying should be told to stay, said he should have picked up the CB when he realized he was blitzing but he thought someone else had him. That would appear to be he assumed the whole line would slide right. Hudson did, Beachum did, but Hernandez didn't so he doubled Hudson's man and nobody blocked the CB
