I stand corrected
You have been 'informed.' That doesn't mean you have to 'stand corrected.'

Just be true to yourself and what you think. You are not required to have anyone dictate the boundaries of your opinion about the Cards. You've been a Card fan longer than some on this site have been alive. You've paid the price to have your opinion and ask a question, even if it includes a question about what makes a 'fan' of this team. Just be ready to be either ignored or banned or both.

Do you really want to sit at the lunch table with anyone who will do that to you?

PS You can even ignore my opinion on this. LOL.

I will say I'm more excited about the team after this draft. There is a potential superstar from this draft. I really like Mike Wilson and Big Play Trey. I'm a Paris Johnson Jr fan. Beck at least offers a glimmer of hope with his pedigree and the potential that he can get better.

The defense is largely the same, but there can be growth from a number of players.

Come on Man, we have to have rules or else it’s just chaos. There is a rule to not call out other posters and play the whole “no true Scotsman game.” It’s really not that deep. “Hey don’t be a dick.” Not that hard.

I mean if you wanna be a dick, P&R is wide open. LOL

Please re-read what I posted. I didn't say anything about the 'rules.' I advised Mel to be true to his opinion but be prepared for the consequences.

Maybe there needs to be 'rule' about understanding what has been posted before calling someone a dick? Besides, if I'm going to be a dick, I do want to be a hard one.

PS More often than not, the discussions evolve into Chaos.

Same. I thought it was by far Monti's best draft. Maybe he's finally gotten the hang of it. Or maybe MLF is better able to communicate with him and identify what he wants and/or needs on the offensive side of the ball.

I am hopeful more than optimistic at this point. It IS the toughest division in football after all.

It's hard to look at Love's highlights when almost all of them he's not touched until 5 or 6 yards down the field. Will the Cards set him up that wide open with their blocks? No doubt he's got freakish skills. Bisontis was my favorite pick. Hoping he will develop into a very solid guard for Cards. A lot of the rest of the guys are developmental. Love and Bisontis should start. The rest, I am not that sure of.

Actually, he can do that.

Of course, he will pay the price for the honesty and the audacity to say it. The emotionally wounded who gather here under the guise of discussing a failed football team will react against him for being so direct. It comes too close to exposing the deeper personality turmoil just below the surface. You may not be able to complain about all the personal disappointments and failures in your life and having to live in a van down by the river, but at least here you can complain about a football team. I'm not a loser, but those guys wearing Cardnial Red sure are.

He'll get the Randall Patrick McMurphy lobotomy courtesy of the many Nurse Ratcheds here.

At the least, he will be ignored and no one will react to what he has to say.
Of course he can. I'm pretty sure my and Shane's point was pretty clear though.

I loved the first two picks, I do wish round three could have been a pass rusher but none of the rushers I wanted were available at that point.

Initially, I was against Beck but I can see the appeal, especially if the concept that he still wasn't fully healed from the UCL injury is correct.

I loved the Proctor pick. He was the exact player I wanted at that point. I was hoping Tiernan would fall, but even then, Proctor would have been enticing. He's got some crazy quick twitch, and could get some sacks on stunts.

I liked getting a big tough receiver, an athletic LB, and a developmental tackle to round out the draft.

It’s clear that everybody on this board likes/loves the Cardinals. We’ve all been on here for a very Very long time spending countless hours debating the team and its moves etc…. Some are just incessantly negative and who can blame them. If you’re questioning, if they’re an actual fan and telling them they should leave then yeah you are questioning their fandom. You can hate management and still love the team and be a fan.
But they should all leave.

we should all leave.

we all know the team does not deserve the support.
its supposed to be entertainment..stress relieving... instead it is stress inducing.

when I tell someone they should find a different team to support. Its because I genuinely care about them and I am worried for their health.

....or the health of the people that have to read their posts...
same same

I so agree. with this. I always say my piece..and I honestly could never respect someone who expects me to do otherwise.
I certainly expect it in return. rather I like what they have to say or not. Its always best to know exactly where you stand with everybody even if that means you stand outside, lol.

Trust me, I have spent many a Thanksgiving standing outside. Keeping pleasant company with myself on the patio is a far better holiday option than some people that expected me to sit quietly and dine with them.

agree... thats a big part of why I wanted Love.
I have always been a "Build from the trenches" guy... but I would not have been excited about a lineman at 3...Ioane was probably closest... but in trurh Bisontis at 34 is way better than Ioane in the top 10

But bringing in JLove,...brings a level of raw excitement we havent had on the team in decades...that feeling that any single play can change the game in our favor.
its an intangible... but its marketable

simple truth is,...some times a guy goes so damn far over the edge, "why the fudge are you even here"?? is a very legit question.

I have come to the conclusion that its just a freaky kink fetish for some of these guys...they get off on the suffering.

I get down on the team too sometimes. But I was always taught that "Misery loves company" is not only a lie but selfish as well...so when I get in the dumps over Cardinal follies...i find some place else to be. Nobody here needs to hear me sink into the depths of depression. Mental illness is contagious.

if you dont believe that...google "cluster suicides"

spreading that intense negativity can actually be harmful to others...and it aint like we dont all feel it already...I mean holy crap...Mike Bidwill is in charge...nobody can be all sunshine and rainbows about that.

I'll agree with this with one caveat. There's been too many "discussions" that go on far too long. If you can't prove your point of view within a maximum of 3-5 posts, call it a draw and move on. Once it gets emotional instead of cerebral, we're all wasting time.

I'm out...;)
Just take into consideration my name :)

I think I am not explaining myself properly. Chargers took Omarion Hampton before fixing their OL. Hampton showed promise, but the OL DEFINITELY hampered his effectiveness. You fix OL FIRST, then take RB. That's why I was saying, without the selection of Bisontis (and possibly more moves), Love selection isn't going to be like we saw in college. Now this year the Chargers are trying to fix their OL, after the fact of drafting Hampton. Still want to see the Cards possibly make some more moves on OL.

The Chargers lost both of their really good starting OTs.

I'll try one more analogy:
Let's say you put all your savings/401K (your hopes and dreams in the cardinals) in the trust of your financial advisor (Bidwill) he tells you after 3 yrs all your dreams will come true and you can go buy that new boat/car you've always wanted but then, the market crashes (3-14 season) and all your money (hopes and dreams) are gone. You're BLOODY;) pissed. Now you're left with nothing but hate and regret and your financial advisor (Little Bill) walks away with no consequences whatsoever and still makes his commission. There are a lot of members here that have seen the "market" crash over and over the past 20+ yrs. Some disgruntlement is to be expected.
But tomorrow is another day :)
This Zen crap is giving me a headache....Now that's funny right there!!
Nice edit, Mod Masters ;)

That inflexible logic could have led to us drafting far inferior talent at #3. I get your premise and, in a vacuum, would agree. Unfortunately we didn't draft in a vacuum. Who would you have taken at #3?

I agree with all of that. To maximize Love's ability, you need a strong OL and ideally a qb that presents a down field passing threat. If you stuck him on the Rams this year for example, I think you'd see video game numbers. I was just saying he has the ability to pick up the tough yards too. Some of my favorite runs of his were plays that should've been blown up at the line that he managed to get 7-8 yards on. I can count on one hand the number of times he didn't finish his run falling forward in his career.
