Say what you want, but I remember hearing Chris Sims on the Florio/Sims show raving about Tune. He was wrong, but was considered someone who knew football. And someone, and I don't know who, probably said the same thing about Tom Brady back in the day. And, naturally I hope you're correct.

This video aged like milk, but many, many people here had stars in their eyes when looking at Tune.
And obviously they prove they are idiots.

As soon as I saw Tune play in a preseason game I knew he would never be the dude.

I don't even know what college he played at. Purdy was amazing in college. Carried his team week in and out.

Oh well you’re a very smart person.

Regardless, more people than you’d expect thought that Clayton Tune could be the man, and do so quickly.

HE passed for over 4k yards and 40 TDs his final season at Houston. Had another 500 rushing yards and 5 rushing TDs on top of that.

The whole thing with Beck, or any young QB is the ability to process info quickly. Which we have no idea if they can

That's why studs in college, like Haskins and Fields didn't make it and guys like Wilson and Purdy did.

Im actually hoping he has a 21esque season...maybe wins a WC game...gets Minnesota all fired up!!
Then he gets a 250mil contract...and goes down week four of the 2027 season with a twisted ankle...comes back three weeks later as the kyler murray we all know and love.... right after the Vikes trade away their youngster they decided they didnt need because kyler was their guy.

I know it sounds petty... but football is a competitive sport, the NFL is a competitive league,...and the NFC is a competitive conference...
Kyler aint going to canton...so success on the field is not too relevant to him I would guess... but like any young dude, he wants to gather stacks...and im sure if he can collect a second bag he will be perfectly happy with how his career played out.

I mean, look at Kirk Cousins.... dude didnt do a damn thing in the NFL except collect checks... got more guaranteed contracts than anybody in the history of the league...without doing squat.
jeezus,....had he passed through cleveland he might have gotten a $500mil guaranteed contract....cousins is one of those guys...he conducted the business of being an NFL QB very well even if it didnt show up on the field. and now he is semi retired in Vegas,...training his replacement and making goofy youtube videos with the kid...
Minne jumped the gun with cousins...gave a guaranteed contract....so there is precedent....would be great if Kyler bends them over the exact same rain barrel.
Tell em how you really feel. Personally I thought K1 would've been gone a lot sooner right behind Kingsberry the dingle berry.

I have a life long friend and is die hard Vikings. He laughed at me when the Cards got Murray. Irony at its best can't wait to see my friend in person.

If not for his kids I doubt 99% of NFL fans would have any idea who Archie Manning is. He’d just be some obscure quarterback from the 70s.

Eli had clout because of Payton.

And I think Eli’s decision to steer clear of a bad franchise was informed by his father’s long but terrible career.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Arch is unwilling to come here. However, he needs to play a lot better to have that kind of pull.
This 1000%!

My old a$$ makes me the 1% that remembers Archie and how good he really was. Unfortunately, he played for one of, if not, the worst organizations the NFL has ever seen. Over time, the Cardinals ownership has now surpassed the Saints in overall ineptitude, but trust me when I say that Archie never had a chance. But it’s true that part of, if not most of the clout Eli had was because of Peyton’s play.

There’s like 10 people on planet earth that can consistently play QB well in an NFL game (stop smiling Justin Hebert).

There’s some weird combination of poise, a certain kind of intelligence, and athletic ability that makes a few successful.

But obviously no one really knows what the formula is because pro scouts can’t choose QBs worth ****.

they call it "IT"...some guys have it...some guys dont
in regards to QB's its mostly processing speed....the game drops into slow motion when chaos hits...for the greats,..not so much for the normies

I'll back oaken1 on this one. I am absolutely in no way a great athlete. Never happened playing football but twice playing baseball, once at shortstop and once at 3rd base. The only explanation I can give is it's just like watching slow motion tv and then back to normal. Most likely due to extreme concentration, everything seems to be in slow motion and then back to normal. You don't think anything of it at the time but for me, it was reliving the play later on in my head and realizing everything slowed down.
How can you argue with the brain, especially when it named itself!! ;)
