I may be one of the few that was suggesting Beck early on. Do we know whether or not he can be someone worth keeping? I don't know but was giving him the benefit of having a pretty complicated surgery between the 24/25 season and he still came back playing fairly well considering. He didn't have the same arm strength but was some of that due to the need to strengthen it after surgery or does it mean his arm is toast. Again, I don't know. He played well enough to manage the games.

As for letting him start, I'm against it. Very few college QBs are ready to hit the ground in the first season. He still needs to develop and playing behind Brissett will teach him how to be a better pro. If after 6-8 games and Brissett hasn't shown he can be a quality starter move on and see what Beck has. We need to find out before we commit to 2027.

There will be 10 other guys out there on the field so it isn't just about the QB. Jacoby made Michael Wilson some money, for example. So you don't just put Beck out there unless he is clearly better. Which he won't be.

That said, I think they play him a lot in the preseason.
Yes this 100%.

If Carson Beck makes everyone else worse I’m not sure how you can ever go back to him again.

Since the Cardinals are playing in the HOF game this year, we have 4 preseason games. Otherwise, we would be playing 3. Once the league goes to 18 games, and that’s likely coming soon, I believe they’ll go to 2 preseason games.
Thanks I appreciate the answer as to Beck I really dont know if he will be good/bad the part of me that leans to good is stronger now than the bad after all we deserve to some one thats good after so many Failures Mcown, Navarre,Rosen etc

I wouldnt waste time. Open competition for QB is what I want. If Brissett cant beat Beck out for the job, why should we even play him at all?
No you throw beck to the wolves week one….we don’t have anything to lose…and we already know brisket and Rico are meh….play the rook and let him enjoy this weaponry …..

Because SUPPOSEDLY next year’s draft has a ton of QB talent available & we need to know if the buck stops with Beck or if we need to pursue one of them.
they will have the last 4-5 weeks of the season to see that

But why week 5? There are players out there playing for new contracts. Putting someone who doesn’t give you the best chance to win damages the credibility in the locker room.

The team will know what they have from camp, practices, and meeting rooms.

in the grand scheme of things:

the odds are way better that Jayden Williams, OT taken 217th overall becomes a functional starting RT than Carson Beck becomes a functional starting QB

I start him right away. He has plenty of big game experience at the college level in big conferences and spotlight games. Put him out there and see what he can do. I think he'll do fine. He has the tools. I will say he does throw a dumb interception at least once a game, but being on the professional level I'm hoping that can get cleaned up. I'm for letting Jacoby walk. There is no potential future in him. I like the Cardinals draft. I think it went well.

Not about Kyler it’s about toxic media and fan base - like you
Kyler didn't do much at all to help himself while he was here. Took a big injury for him to appear to want to try and be a good teammate and leader and spend more time in Arizona than Texas. He is not blameless at all in his failures in AZ.

Have a question on Beck's arm for those in the know. Does the surgery resulting from the injury mean his arm can get back to strength in time or did the surgery restrict his arm in the process of fixing the elbow.
