It was a game to remember at Wrigley Field on Wednesday as the Chicago Cubs narrowly beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-6 to complete the series sweep.
Pete Crow-Armstrong and Shohei Ohtani put on an MVP battle for the ages, with the Cubs center fielder coming out on top.
The race for the MVP award is certainly heating up as the Dodgers have hit a real sticking patch in their season.
This is music to the ears of Cubs and Crow-Armstrong fans, with the 24-year-old scoring two home runs on Wednesday against the Dodgers.
Ohtani was able to put two homers on the board, with his second coming in the eighth inning to really make things tight towards the end.
Despite ending up on the losing side again, Ohtani heaped praise on Crow-Armstrong for his season so far.

Shohei Ohtani praises Chicago Cubs’ Pete Crow-Armstrong amid MVP battle
The two stars of MLB have now both hit 26 home runs for the season, with very little between them in the other metrics.
Cubs fans adore Crow-Armstrong as he shows his true self with moments like Tuesday night when he awarded a young fan one of his bats.
With so many people rooting for Crow-Armstrong in the MVP race, Ohtani broke his silence on his rival in the pursuit of the award.
“He’s a great player but I’m really focused on myself right now on the hitting side of things and I’m really working towards hopefully getting back on the mound,” Ohtani told the media after the game at Wrigley.
“It’s still a little too far away to think about that.”
It really has been an incredible second half of the season so far for Crow-Armstrong, with the 24-year-old showing significant improvement.
During the opening 58 games, the Cubs star had only hit six home runs and had a batting average of .224.
However, in his 57 games since, Crow-Armstrong has hit 20 homers and improved his batting average to .349.
There is still a long way to go before the end of the season, but it is positive to see a player of Ohtani’s value and quality being tested all the way.
