RICHMOND, Va. — The SeaWolves started the post-All-Star break portion of the schedule with a historic weekend in Richmond.
The ‘Wolves took two-of-three while breaking the franchise record for stolen bases in a season. The old record of 180 stolen bases lasted nearly 27 years as it was set by the 1999 team.

The ‘Wolves stole nine bases on Saturday, July 18 and another four on Sunday to raise their season total to 188. The nine stolen bases on Saturday is the most in one game since at least 2005.
Peyton Graham has been a big part of the stolen base attack and is up to 51 this season. The only other SeaWolves player to steal 50 bases in a season is Trent Durrington, who stole 59 bases in the 1999 season.
Erie beat Richmond 5-2 on Friday before falling 7-6 in 10 innings on Saturday. The ‘Wolves clinched the series with a 10-5 win on Sunday. Josue Briceno recently returned from injury for Erie and crushed a grand slam on Sunday.
The ‘Wolves improved to 16-5 in the second half, and they have built a 3½-game lead for first place over Chesapeake (12-8). Erie continues the nine-game road trip with six games at Bowie before returning home for a 12-game homestand on July 28. If the ‘Wolves were to win the second half, they’d take on first-half Richmond for the Southwest Division Title.
A big part of Erie’s second-half success is Justice Bigbie. He already had two hit streaks of more than 10 games before a recent streak of 19 games. Bigbie was able to continue it with a walk-off single on July 12 before the all-star break.
Bigbie hit in all three games in Richmond to keep his historic streak alive. Bigbie heads to Bowie on Tuesday with a chance to tie the franchise record. Ryan Raburn and Wynton Bernard share the franchise record with a 20-game hit streak.
After a decade of waiting for a Major League Baseball rehab, the SeaWolves had their second rehab of the season on Sunday. Former SeaWolves pitcher Jackson Jobe started and threw three innings. He allowed just one unearned run on three hits and struck out three batters. Starting pitcher Jack Flaherty made a rehab start at UPMC Park earlier this season.
Jobe injured his right arm in May of 2025 and is working his way back to Detroit. The injury was diagnosed as a Grade 1 right flexor strain and required Tommy John surgery.
Jobe made one rehab start with the FCL Tigers and another with Lakeland before Sunday. He is projected to rejoin the Tigers in August.
