Seattle Seahawks general manager once said he and his team are "in on every call" when it comes to any possible deal or free agent signing. Schneider employs a "no stone left unturned" mentality and the results are hard to question, as they have helped propel Seattle to two Lombardi's. Well, sometimes this "no stone unturned" policy can lead to some... interesting... potential outcomes.
On Friday morning, it is being reported the Seahawks have been in touch with embattled former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold. This news was actually broken in a court proceeding about four teams who have reached out to him.
Yes, I said court proceeding, because Arnold is facing eight felony charges - four for armed robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon, and four for kidnapping. Arnold was arrested in late June, then released by the Lions five days later after being placed on house arrest.
Terrion Arnold is an extraordinarily talented young athlete, which is why the Lions selected him in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. He started in 15 games as a rookie, but was limited to only eight total games in 2025 due to a season-ending shoulder injury. However, his career in the Motor City is officially concluded following these incredibly serious allegations.
I understand Seattle's interest, I really do. Arnold would provide a considerable boost to their secondary, and help fill any void left by the departure of Riq Woolen. But I think the Seahawks would be wise to steer clear of this. Yes, innocent until proven guilty, but sometimes the juice isn't worth the squeeze. Seattle has built a foundation of high character men - players who spent years at their respective colleges. Players who were voted team captains. This has contributed to Seattle's ironclad culture. I'm not sure someone facing eight felony charges is a right fit for that culture.
