On Monday, the Detroit Lions officially announced they have released starting cornerback Terrion Arnold after his recent arrest.

Prosecutors allege that in February 2026, Arnold orchestrated the kidnapping, robbery, and assault of three young men (including his personal driver) at a Tampa apartment. The attack was allegedly an act of retaliation. Three days prior, over $250,000 worth of luxury goods (including Rolex watches and Louis Vuitton bags) and cash were reported stolen from an Airbnb Arnold was renting. Investigators later determined that the three victims had absolutely nothing to do with the original theft.

Arnold faces eight felony charges (four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery/conspiracy). Because firearms were involved, the charges carry a potential penalty of up to life in prison.

The Lions selected Arnold in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft with the No. 24 overall pick out of the University of Alabama.
