The Seattle Seahawks are entering the 2025 NFL draft searching for depth at cornerback. Mike Macdonald's defense has Riq Woolen and Josh Jobe penciled in as the boundary outside starters. Jobe was re-signed earlier this offseason after enjoying a breakout campaign in 2024. Devon Witherspoon will be his usual versatile self, roaming the defensive backfield as required from the nickel spot.

It may not be Seattle's highest priority, but general manager John Schneider will draft a cornerback at some point. The Seahawks recently held a virtual meeting with Florida Gators cornerback prospect Jason Marshall Jr., who projects as a Day Three selection.

Schneider has always appreciated experience and production. Marshall Jr. made 39 career starts for Florida in the SEC. At the NFL Combine, Marshall Jr. ran a solid 4.49-second 40-yard dash after measuring in at a terrific 6-foot, 194 pounds. Size and athleticism are present.

Marshall Jr. recorded 27 career pass breakups at Florida. He also leaped a 37.5-inch vertical and a 10-foot-5 broad jump at the NFL Combine despite being three months removed from season-ending surgery. Marshall Jr. was primarily a man-coverage cornerback at Florida, but he's also familiar with zone. Mike Macdonald would appreciate his size, athleticism, and versatility.
