Linebacker Uchenna Nwosu admitted the Seattle Seahawks came into Super Bowl LX hellbent on getting after New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and disrupting him in the pocket.
According to Nwosu, the Seahawks felt like Maye was the "whole team," and they knew stopping him was their best path to victory.
"We knew he's their whole team....We knew if we affected him, their whole gameplan would be nothing," Nwosu said, via ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
And Nwosu's words proved correct in the Seahawks' 29-13 blowout win over the Patriots on Sunday.
The defense feasted on the Patriots' rookie offensive linemen, Will Campbell and Jared Wilson, throughout the game, making it unbearable for Maye in the pocket. As a second-year quarterback, there wasn't a lot of time or answers for Maye in the matchup.
The three turnovers didn't help matters, either. Maye gave up a strip sack fumble and two interceptions, including a pick-six that ultimately put the game out of reach.
