The Seattle Seahawks signed pass rusher Derick Hall to a lucrative extension this offseason. It was a three-year deal worth $42 million. Expectations will be higher for Hall in 2026 after signing a long-term contract.

Remember the Seahawks lost Boye Mafe to free agency. The Seahawks are placing faith in Hall, who recorded just two sacks this past campaign. Hall had an eight-sack campaign in 2024, and John Schneider and Mike Macdonald clearly believe he's capable of recapturing that form.

The Athletic's Michael-Shawn Dugar believes a big season could be on the horizon for Hall in 2026.

"If he [Hall] had like 11 sacks or something like that it really just would not surprise me," Dugar recently said on the Seahawks Collective Podcast. "Looking at TruMedia [analytics stats], D-Hall was 15th in pressure rate. I'd buy some D-Hall stock."

Dugar is correct that Hall's pass-rushing metrics were far more impressive than his two sacks. The former Auburn standout was credited with producing 41 quarterback pressures by Pro Football Focus. Converting pressures into sacks will be emphasized by Hall this season.

The Seahawks are counting on Hall after rewarding his efforts with a multi-year extension. He'll factor heavily into the defense this season.
