Not surprised.

Every sporting event I have ever attended there are people talking and making noise (and not removing their hats) while the National Anthem is being sung. They are just completely oblivious to what is going on or do not care.

Saw a story where this happened at the Packers' game too. Like I said, it probably happened everywhere there was a moment of silence.

You've always got the one dimwit who wants to be heard on national TV.

All of that irks me too, team fans think they can add their own twist to the anthem and yell it in the middle. Just no respect.

If you think that's bad check out the moment of silence in the Greece - Turkey soccer game.

I agree with BRR and you guys.

Yeah sure, there were thousands of people who were cool but the fact that there are always a few who cant do it is very irksome. Respect for the moment or maybe, just maybe, genuine reverence for the tragedy is nothing compared to peoples need to be noticed.

It's like the morons at golf tournaments who are there simply to scream: "YOURE THE MAN!!!" Right after tiger hits every shot. Or the clows at baseball games who walk down behind home plate and wave for a half hour while on their cell phones going; Can you see me? Can you see me???

Some people are so freaking needy these days. It's like the fact that you heard/saw them on TV some how validates all their failed childhood hopes and dreams lol.

Dumb, but I'm more offended that chiefs fans yell out "chiefs" instead of the word "brave" in "home of the brave" during the National Anthem.

That absolutely burns me.

in all seriousness., you cant tell thousands of people what to do at one time and its just a pointless gesture to begin with. The national anthem is pointless as well. Im not saying go out and be a jerk. Just silly little ceremonial things I dont worship and dont care for

Just to give you an example of the stupidity of some people. I attended a Pink Floyd concert at Philly's old JFK Stadium back in 1987(same stadium as Live Aid). There were about 120K people in the stadium with a bunch on the field. After the first half of the show, John DeBella(a local DJ) came out and told those on the field to stop pushing forward and waving their arms because those in the front few rows were getting crushed. After he made the announcement, apparently one person started waving their arms and he said, "120,000 people and 1 *******). Received quite a pop. But it just goes to show that there's always going to be at least 1 *******.

Oh, I remember going to a Soul/Dallas Desperado's(AFL) game and during the national anthem, Desperado WR/DB(back in the days of iron man football) Bobby Sippio was jumping around clapping and yapping. Just to give you an idea of what kind of a tool Sippio is, got arrested for attempted murder, aggravated assault, and kidnapping of his girlfriend's brother.
