Ryan Preece's long-term future in the NASCAR Cup Series is uncertain. After Chris Buscher signed a contract extension with RFK Racing, the organization has three drivers for two chartered entries. Preece running an open entry for RFK Racing during the 2027 NASCAR season appears to be the plan, as reported by FOX Sports' Bob Pockrass. The driver of the No. 60 car's status with RFK Racing is greatly impacted by the organization's strong sponsorship with Kroger and its vendors.
Brad Keselowski is expected to continue driving the No. 6 car for RFK Racing until he retires, which he says won't be for several years. Therefore, Preece will be forced into an open entry moving forward. It may not be the most desirable outcome, but Preece and RFK Racing don't want this partnership to end.
