If the owners try to impose a short season on the players under the current coronavirus circumstances, cue the circus music. The only chance to play a short season is through the collaboration and cooperation of both sides -- and even if you have that, it still might not work.

Political parties; labor/management; and religions each competing against each other
to the detriment of American citizens . . .

The very things that made our country great are leading to its downfall. It is a shame!

But then, it is human nature. As the saying goes, "There is no gravity. The Earth sucks!"

MLB, the owners and the Players' Union need to be reminded that they exist primarily
to serve the public. Not the other way around.

MLB asked the MLBPA to respond to health-and-safety protocols and answer whether they can report to camp on July 1 by 5pm ET. It is now 5:05pm ET.

#MLB and the #MLBPA continue to exchange ideas with the health and safety protocols. There are no major snags. The union already informed MLB that it plans to play, and be in spring training camps by July 1 with a 60-game season starting July 24-26 weekend.

#MLBPA has informed #MLB players will report on July 1st for July 24 Opening Day. 60 Game season in 66 days. They are both still working on finalizing safety and health protocols which quite frankly will be something both parties will continue to improve on going forward.

Here come more adjusted rules for 2020:
*Transactions freeze ends this Friday at noon ET
*Teams must submit 60-man player pool names by Sunday at 3 ET
*In-person scouting will be allowed.
*Teams can take up to 3 taxi squad players on road (but if 3, one must be a catcher)

More adjusted rules:
*To be eligible for postseason, players must be added to big-league roster by 9/15
*Season will start with 30-man rosters. Down to 28 after 2 weeks, 26 after 4 weeks.
*Pitchers/catchers report to camp first, then position players.

*Teams can invite all 60 players to big-league spring training or can send up to 20 players (not on 40-man roster) to alternate site.
*Not all players on 40-man roster must be invited to big-league spring training (but if not must still be paid).
