I don’t think his comp is Simmons but Reese will never be a primary pass rusher. I just can’t fathom a jack of all trades LB top-3.

Huh? Bain is way more physical at the POA than Bailey.IMO, David Baily is more Will Anderson esque than Bain based on play style.
I could 100% be mis-remembering Will Anderson, but I never saw him as a pure power player on the EDGE at Alabama. He was a pass rusher with multiple ways to win, and had the ability to spam TFLs because he could slip blocks and beat OL to the spot. IMO, he was a well rounded EDGE player vs the pure power or speed types.Huh? Bain is way more physical at the POA than Bailey.
Trading up for Simpson? Really?I’m going to post something soon on Bain. I got caught up in the CFP game and I’m no longer confident I’d take him at 3. Many sharp people agree with Chopper about Bailey. I need to watch more film. I’ve been mainly focused on QBs & RTs. If simpson comes out is there some team that would make it worth the Cards’ needs to move. For example if Cleveland goes WR, would they give up theirs 2 firsts for the Cards pick to get their choice. Would the Cards still get Bailey or Bain at Clevelands spot. Before you think that couldn’t work, look at the trade chart. At least 6 teams need starting QBs. What would the offer for Simpson? We’re playing chess now.
Isiah SimmonsWhen was the last time we had an LB who was a game changer? Dansby?
Who does Arvell compare to?
Apparently we're going to be hearing about Bain having tiny arms come the combine. Sub 31 inch arms is the rumor. As of now he's being mocked top 5 a lot, especially after dominating Ohio State, but measurements sticklers aren't going to like him.
I kinda think Monti is a measurements guy....
Reese is actually similar to Sweat. Reeses’ strengths are mostly in controlling the run and rushing the passer. He is fairly weak in defending the pass.
That's not a good comp. Sonny Styles is a good comp for Simmons. Reese is bigger and when he hits people they move. He definitely slowed down as the year progressed but was an absolute terror in the 1st half of year. I don't think Reese is the pure pass rusher you'd take at 3. He can rush the passer but that's not his specialty. Someone mentioned Travon Walker, that's a pretty good comp.

You may not need to do as much imho with this very weak Qb class to get those 2 #1s question is Simpson or any other Qb worth it and would a qb needy team want to make a trade ie. Murray and that contract thats really my question stranger things have hapenedI’m going to post something soon on Bain. I got caught up in the CFP game and I’m no longer confident I’d take him at 3. I have read a comp for him is Brandon Graham which may fit if he does have short arms.I guess we wait for your post but I'm curious if bains arm length is going to make him drop does he really drop out of the first round as Brugler says some teams have him? If so someone is going to get a hell of a player with a 2nd round pick.
Your joking, right?Isiah Simmons
Your joking, right?
So not a LB as a Dansby.he doesn't play like him but like I said the problem with Simmons is he doesn't have a position, great athlete but he's not S and he's not a LB. The problem with Reese IMO is he's not a LB and he's not an Edge, he's a freaky athlete. Now maybe you can coach him up and get him to be a great player, but that's precisely what we thought when we drafted Simmons.
Reese blew up in the Texas game this year he had a nice game 9 tackles 4 solo and a sack. He was basically used to spy Arch Manning so he had a sack and a bunch of tackles on manning when he tried to run. he's so fast it was really impressive to watch. The last several games he was pretty mediocre, even against Miami he didn't do much, against Indiana 1 tackle an assist. Against good teams with pro prospect OL's he was completely ineffective.
Great athlete and if he's coachable yeah could be good, but you don't take a kid at 3 not knowing what position he even plays. Doing that would be exactly what we did with Simmons
So not a LB as a Dansby.
He goes in top 15 even with a mediocre CombineI guess we wait for your post but I'm curious if bains arm length is going to make him drop does he really drop out of the first round as Brugler says some teams have him? If so someone is going to get a hell of a player with a 2nd round pick.
He goes in top 15 even with a mediocre Combine
in this draft, you can get that -- but the player might be an OLB, a safety or a RBHere is what I want:
Productive in college
Participates fully in the combine (looking at you Marv)
Is amongst the leaders in his group in overall athleticism
Interviews well and loves football.
Has protypical size
We have the dang 3 pick, we have to be able to get that.
