Now that the 2026 NBA draft is officially in the books, we get to the fun part with undrafted free agency. The free-for-all sees teams across the league try to find diamonds in the rough. The Oklahoma City Thunder have joined in on the frenzy already for a couple of guys.
The Thunder have reportedly signed Indiana's Sam Alexis to a Summer League deal, per The Oklahoman's Justin Martinez. He played in four collegiate seasons from 2022-26. He spent his first two years at Chattanooga. He then spent one year each at Florida and Indiana. He averaged 8.8 points on 68.7% shooting, 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 32 games this past season.
The 21-year-old is a 6-foot-9, 240-pound forward. Alexis had previously conducted a predraft workout with the Thunder. Shouldn't be a shocker to see him go undrafted. Most NBA mock drafts had him well outside of the top-60 range.
We'll see how Alexis performs in the 2026 Summer League — which will take place from July 9-19. If he impresses enough, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Thunder add him to their G League's OKC Blue roster for the 2026-27 season and maybe even give him a training camp invite.
Undrafted Indiana forward Sam Alexis has committed to play Summer League with the OKC Thunder, per source.
