Refs gave Davante Adams a catch on same play Bills' Brandin Cooks lost to controversial interception originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

If Bills Mafia was watching the Rams-Bears game on Sunday night, they likely freaked out over one play in particular.

Davante Adams reeled in a pass for the Rams, briefly, then had the ball snagged away by a Bears defender.

Looked familiar -- a lot like the play that Brandin Cooks lost the ball on Saturday night that was ruled a Broncos interception in overtime.

Except this time, it was ruled a catch for Adams.

This is what The Buffalo News' Jay Skurski had to say about it on X:

"This is an embarrassment for the NFL. It’s the same play as last night and these network 'rules experts' make things worse. They’re contradicting themselves, or worse, posting polls about season-defining plays when they’re supposed to be the authorities on what actually happened."

The case for Adams here is that he sort of got one or two tiny steps onto the ground before the ball was taken away. Cooks really didn't get any steps, just straight to the knee down during contact.

Adams was ruled down before the ball was taken away. Cooks wasn't.

And really, they weren't all that different.
