The Florida State Seminoles recently entered the race for linebacker recruit Olrisk Johnson III, extending him a scholarship offer on March 4. He has not set up an official visit to Tallahassee as the Seminoles have quickly become a key player in his recruitment.
According to Chris Nee of Noles247, Johnson will officially visit on June 5. He is also set to unofficially visit on Friday, March 13, his first time visiting campus. He also has an official visit set with the UConn Huskies for May 29.
Johnson is currently unranked by every major recruiting service. However, he does have over 15 scholarship offers, including ones from the Cincinnati Bearcats, California Golden Bears, and Iowa State Hawkeyes, in addition to FSU.
The Kennesaw, Georgia, native is coming off an excellent junior season at Harrison High School, where he helped go 10-2. He finished the year with 100 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in 10 games.
FSU linebacker coach Ernie Sims already has a commitment from four-star prospect Gregory Batson, and he is now working on filling out the class around him. Johnson is a new target, but he is certainly one to watch moving forward.
