This is going to go one of two ways.
1. This team could go into a death spiral, (and probably will).
2. Or Could yesterday’s debacle actually galvanize this roster into an us against the world mentality?

We really don’t know the mindset of this roster. Do they believe or do they see the failures of this staff.
Do they believe in Petzing? Or are the frustrated by the way this offense is being called.
Do the defensive players believe in Rallis? Or are they they asking each other what the hell are we doing?
Are there players pissed because Demercado is still on the roster? Or are they rallying around their teammate?

I think we will get a much better picture after this Sunday. If we go in and beat a very good Colts team it might be a good sign. If we get shellacked then we will know for sure, if we don’t know already.

Interesting post 16. You’re right—we’ll learn a lot in Indy. I see us in a death rattle now, but oddly I do feel that this bunch will play to the level of the competition. Yeah, this means more last-second losses (and probably a couple of blowout losses too—they are the Cards).

Was thinking something similar. Turn it around or go into a death spiral.

Adversity either makes you stronger or destroys you.

I honestly think a lot of this stems back to us having training camp at our stadium, and staying in a plushy 5 star resort. It’s camp cupcake. Go back to flag, stay in a crappy dorm, and force these dudes to bond and grind out a tough camp together.

History tells us death spiral. Especially after possibly the most demoralizing loss in team history. To be honest I am not sure they are that worried about it.
They have enough talent to win, but the coaching will make sure that doesn’t happen.

I kind of wonder if this staff doesn’t understand the hot water in which it’s currently sitting. Is that possible? Are JG & Co. simply clueless?
Pretty certain JG exploding on Demercado yesterday is a strong indicator that he is aware of the situation

I’m pretty sure it will be a death spiral as well. We have good teams coming and we are completely lost. I don’t think anyone expected the o line to be complete garbage and that is one of the main reasons we won’t turn things around. By the end of the year we’ll be saying goodbye to Petzing and Murray.

For my part I’ll be interested to see how the defense improves once all our injured guys come back. That will be the foundation for next year. In the offseason we’ll need to fix the oline, find a new qb and a running back. Gonna be a lot but we’ll have a top 5 pick to do it.

Gannon said to the team, “ We are running out of time. The clock is ticking.”
I think they know.
Yup, you’re right 16. They know. Weird that they seem almost powerless to do anything about it.

Playing scared football is losing football!!! That’s JG & BOTH of his coordinators. Non of them are very aggressive, they are passive! They react instead of attack! Coaches matters, scheme matters.

And thus they are dead men walking.
Bucky you hit the nail on the head.
When all you need is a first down to win the game and you are more worried about how many time outs the other team has you are setting yourself up to lose.

I think neither will happen.
Unfortunately…they will play an inspiring game against Indy (but probably not enough to win) and all will be fine.
6-11 season. Gannon gets another chance, Petzing also.
Welcome to miserable mediocrity!

We will certainly find out what this team is about Sunday. That will be all I need to see from the 25-26 Arizona Cardinals. Get jack stomped into the turf, I'm officially looking at the start of hockey season since my baseball team is fraudulently pretending to play October baseball. Show a shred of dignity and we might actually still be alive late in the season with the NFC being so mid.

How do you galvanize a team with a rotten, broken QB?

There we're a lot of issues on Sunday but in the 2 games before the defense played well, receivers were getting open and too many yards were left on the field.

How is "trying harder" going to fix that? How is effort going to ship Kyler's YPA from 6 to 7.5? How is it going to make him read a defense and process faster so he doesn't miss easy passes to open guys?
