I seriously can't imagine watching a football game at 10am. Football just doesn't seem like football to me if I'm eating a bagel and having coffee instead of munching on chips and tossing back a cold one. I can see the plus side in that you have the whole day to do stuff after that, but it still seems like it would be really odd...

Just curious, does it bother you? What kind of conflict does it cause with those of you that normally go to church? Would you rather have a 1pm game or a 10am game? Do you get up earlier than normal so you're kind of in mid-day form by the time the game starts? Do you have a bunch of people over or is it low key? I'm sure you're used to it but I'm not a morning person by any means so it just seems so out of whack to me. I really have a hard time imagining it...

We always miss most of the early games because of church. We teach Sunday School so we can't exactly skip out to watch football. Usually try to catch the last part of the 3rd and all of the 4th.

I don't go to church, but it doesn't bother me.

I love the 10 am games especially when the Cardinals play at 1 so I can just follow all my fantasy players in the morning (since a majority of the games are at 10) and then focus on the Cardinals at 1 since more than likely 1 PM games consist of Cowboys/Giants/Eagles in some form most of the time.

I think I would hate having 1 pm, 4 pm games..then having the Sunday Night game drag on til real late.

10 am ftw.

Absolutely hate it. I can't figure out how the NFL continues to be completely dictated by one time zone. When I lived out east I loved the fact that I could get up and get things done with my day before football started. Out hear, I have to suffer at least 2 quarters with a hangover most days.

You're definitely right about the Sunday night games. When the Cards play Sunday nights, that next day is brutal, as Mondays always are, but even more so.

It kicks ass. If the Cards are on early it's an away game anyway. Watch it, hopefully enjoy it, then I have a more productive day in a good mood. I guess that it doesn't usually work that way, does it?

We get to watch games while we tailgate.

Late games are over before beddie bye. Did you enjoy the Raiders-Chargers game last night? Good game.

In going from the 10 AM game in AZ to the 1PM game now in Florida I actually find myself waking up and finding the 3-4 hours before the first game unbearable.

I liked the games being done at 4 and being able to have the rest of my night. Now football is an all day event.

Not that I am complaining. But I do miss the early morning beer buzz. :)

I believe that they invented Saturday Afternoon Mass for just this very reason.

Oh, and I've always said that nothing tastes better than a cold beer at 10 a.m., and all my friends in rehab totally agree.

I love the 10am games. You get the 10-1 game, the 1-4 game, watch the recaps on ESPN or NFL, then you get the evening game. And you are not a zombie at work the next day.

I don't understand how you east coast folks can stand MNF games that end at 1am and have to be at work early. Although, on the East coast, isn't it common to have normal work time start at 9am and not 8am? Dunno.

Some sports bars out here actually serve breakfast for the 10am games.

What is kind of funny is that you used to not be able to order alcohol in sports bars at the beginning of the 10am games because AZ had a 12 noon rule. It was hilarious to see the cocktail waitresses get slammed the minute it turned noon. They have since changed the law to 10am.

Good point. But then again, I don't think I could enjoy watching the Raiders play no matter what...but when the Cards played the double header Monday nighter, that definitely sucked the next day. Of course I had to stay up and watch.

I lived out in Florida for a year for an internship. Wake up on Sunday and have to wait for the games. Then not get to watch the late game. 1998. I spent 10 years thinking that I was a jinx.

I work third shift on the East coast and keep my schedule like anyone that works normal hours does; ie. work, go home, get things done, go to bed about 6 or 7 hours after getting home. So for me, the early Sunday games start at 10 pm, the later games at 1 am, and the night games at 5 am.
I have seriously considered moving west to make watching football more tolerable!

last years Jets game was brutal for me with the hangover aspect. I was just eating breakfast when Boldin got hit. Then I felt sick again....

This is exactly the position I'm in. I grew up in Arizona and was used to football in the morning. I still haven't adjusted to Florida and the "late" starts on Sunday (and Saturday).

I loved the early starts when I was a kid, because I'd roll out of bed and be watching the NFL Today with a bowl of cereal 5 minutes later. But I've lived in Eastern time for most of the last 14 years, so sometimes when I'm home I forget and miss the first part of the early games.

But I love later starts on the east coast because I can watch Sunday Night Football literally until I go to bed.

My favorite thing about early starts, though, was Monday Night Football. I'd much prefer the game start right after work instead of at 9pm on a Monday.

Here in NM, the early games start at 11am, late games at 2pm, night game at 6pm. Just about perfect

Like some others, I go to church in the morning. Year by year, the time of church varies - but when I have early church (8:30 or so), I love the early schedule. I can come home, catch up on Tivo and generally watch the last half of quarter live. That means that I watch the game with nearly ZERO commercials. Love it!

Also, having to travel on the East Coast for work from time to time; I like the late start to games (MNF for example) so I can get to the hotel in time to watch - but the end time is just brutal if you want to be fresh for the next working day. I don't know how East Coast sports' fans of West Coast teams can do it.

I don't know how East Coast sports' fans of West Coast teams can do it.

With the Cards, it's easy, but with the Suns, a bit more difficult because even on a national broadcast, say TNT, it's often a 10pm or even 11pm start.

The Pac-10 probably suffers because so many don't see their games, but the upside for me is that by that point, they're the only games on, so I have a better chance of watching.

born and raised on the east coast as a youngster it worked out pretty well

would be a cold, snowy day - would roll out of bed, grab a blanket, hop on the couch for some pregame and get done all that needed to be done ...... then settle in with a big bowl of chili and watch the games

even in college staying up late to watch the sunday game or monday night game was the norm

was a bit of an adjustment moving out here - especially with sports bars - definitely wasn't used to seeing a breakfast spread setup when you first arrive

i got into it pretty quick though

i love the timing of the games out here - the only things that bug me a little is when games start early during the week and i'm not home from work in time, but tivo is a cure for that

also like it for other sports where you can easily watch both east & west games

having the hockey package in college was great so I could watch the sharks, but staying up 3-4 nights a week until 1:30 watching hockey and then waking up to get to work/class wasn't great times ...... especially since beer and whiskey go great with hockey

Bagel and coffee? Not around my house - Gametime is Gametime!

As was mentioned above, I can't imagine tailgating without any games to watch like the east coast fans do.
