no shows today and Barry is killing us from the 3-point line.

Man... Berry stood so far from the arc.. who would have thought..

but after this game, whenever berry steps on the court, we need to GLUE on him.

Ten points between Shawn and Q - pretty surprising we were as close as 7 pts at the end with only 3 of our starters showing up on the offensive end, and no bench to speak of. Damn, I just wish this team could click on all cylinders once in awhile.

And Barbosa - if he ever figures out the part about the ball goes through the hoop, he's got real promise.

Yeah that's pretty amazing that we only lost 7pts.

Our home and road records are about the same. We've gotta beat Spurs at least once on their home court and take it to Game 7.

This is just the first game and even though 90% of the teams that won Game 1 won the series, we still have 10% of the chance to fight back.

If Fisher can be that lucky, so can we!

I just think that we played really tense today. We looked we were afraid of Spurs or something. We are the #1 team damn it. Play like one.

We only showed some fire in the 2nd half and then Barry took over.

I don't know what happened to Marion but he only took 6 shots. I think we need to diversify our offense a bit to get other guys involved. Right now, Amare/Nash can score but other guys were just watching... (besides Jim Jackson).

Bowen was on Jim Jackon after he got hot but if Q can be hot too, Spurs won't be able to lock down Nash/Amare.

I was actually very pissed at Amare for the 2nd last turnover by Nash. He should have ran TOWARDS Nash instead of standing there and waiting for Nash to pass out. I thought that's basketball common sense? Him standing there will only allow the defenders to steal the ball. If Amare jumps FORWARD to catch the ball, it won't be a TO. Or...Nash should have called a timeout instead of forcing it. sigh.

Q has struggled for weeks but Marion's problem was Hunter.

When Hunter is in the game the Suns are stronger defensively but they struggle on offence.

If they played this way more they might perform better but they really struggled today in the half court at the end with Hunter in the game.

They really need JJ against the Spurs to create mismatches. Today it was the Suns trying to compensate for what the Spurs were doing. Usually its the other way around.

shawn marion has no business guarding tim duncan. it is unfortunate, but i feel that if/when we lose this series, we'll look at that matchup as what did us in. those are repeated wide open 6ft shots we're giving to a 2-time league MVP, not the best of options.

I agree. Hunter really has no offense game. Besides Nash creating for him, I really don't know how he can score... sigh.

We did have the defense in the 3rd quarter but in the 4th... it really doesn't matter if Hunter is in the game or not. lol We gave up 43 pts... WTF. I hate Barry. He only shows up against us.

Well, at least we know next time Barry comes out, we need to have a player ON HIM ALL THE TIME and stop doubling Duncan. Even Barry himself said that with Duncan drawing so much attention, he can get easy shots.

Would you give up 2pt or 3pt? Just do the math and you'll realize it's really not worth to double team Duncan.

Hunter needs to fight for his position. Duncan was hurt and Hunter wasn't even being physical with him. All he did is to stand behind Duncan. Duncan had it too easy. And if necessary, hard foul on him.

Marion will come out again. I am sure Spurs' gameplan wasn't to stop Marion since Suns has no set plays for him. Marion was just out of it.

i didn't realize marions writst was still giving him that much trouble. He seemed to shoot great against the mavs.

I'm not too worried. we had great games from nash, amare and jackson, and still hung in there even with marion and Q being absent. if we get joe back, there's no way out of those 6 more than three should have bad games, and i like our chances.

Hey at least when those guys don't score they do other things to help the team, it's not like they just flat out disappear. The problem is we need them to do all of those other things AND score to be able to win this series. Tough road ahead.
