The Los Angeles Rams pulled off a blockbuster trade for All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie, and one of the first reactions came from someone who knows him well: Fellow All-Pro Puka Nacua.
Shortly after the trade news broke, Nacua jumped on X and quote-tweeted one of his own posts from 2019.
The original tweet dates back to their college days together at the University of Washington. Nacua appears to have posted it after McDuffie, then a true freshman, made a big play by recovering a fumble during a 33–28 loss to No. 9 Utah.
Now years later, the two former Huskies are reunited again, this time in Los Angeles.
The Rams paid a hefty price to bring McDuffie to town, sending the No. 29 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to the Kansas City Chiefs along with fifth- and sixth-round picks this year and a 2027 third-round selection.
It’s another big offseason move for head coach Sean McVay and the Rams front office, as the team continues pushing for another championship run and its second Super Bowl title of the McVay era.
For Nacua, though, the trade means something else. He gets to share the field with a former college teammate once again.
