Los Angeles Rams safety Quentin Lake praised teammate Puka Nacua for taking accountability following a turbulent offseason that included allegations of biting, anti-Semitic comments, a rehab stint and counseling.

Speaking on Underdog's "The Arena: Gridiron" show, Lake emphasized that Nacua’s public acknowledgment at OTAs this week of his personal struggles was a major step forward for the young wide receiver.

"To me, getting to know him really over the past three years, three and a half years, he's one of the most selfless, amazing human beings that you'll ever meet," Lake said. "Life happens. There's situations that you might put yourself in that might be unfortunate, but if you can learn from them and move on and grow, as somebody that is in his corner that is going to support him no matter what, that's all you want to see."

Lake added that the Rams place a heavy emphasis on accountability, making Nacua's recent media appearance particularly meaningful to the locker room.

The Rams have rallied around their star receiver all offseason in the wake of his off-field incidents. Head coach Sean McVay has been a staunch supporter of Nacua's this spring and echoed those sentiments at OTAs. Other teammates have also maintained their stance on Nacua throughout the offseason as a valued member of the team and person they care deeply about.

Nacua and the Rams hope to have finally put these incidents behind them as the 2026 season draws nearer. And, hopefully, Nacua does right by what he's been saying about learning from his mistakes.
