PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — The Olympia Spartans had lost three in a row and were playing No. 1 Maroa-Forsyth.

The odds may have seemed long but Oly beat the odds.

Kollin Smith scored four touchdowns as host Olympia handed Maroa-Forsyth its first loss of the season, 50-36, Friday night in Stanford. Oly (4-3) hands the Trojans (6-1), ranked No. 1 in class 3A, their first loss of the season.

And in the battle for first place in the Mid-Illini, Washington beat host Dunlap, 23-15 in a battle of state-ranked teams. The seventh-ranked Panthers (6-1, 5-0 in M-I) handed the Eagles (6-1, 4-1 in M-I) their first loss of the season.

Other football winners Friday night included Normal Community, Normal West, Peoria High, Notre Dame, Metamora, Morton, Pekin, U-High, Central Catholic, El Paso-Gridley, Farmington, Tri-Valley, Dee-Mack, LeRoy, Ridgeview-Lexington, Prairie Central and IVC, which won its first game of the season.

The Richwoods game at Urbana was suspended late in the second quarter due to a fight between players on the field. The game was tied 14-14.

A report is being filed to the Illinois High School Association, which will have to make a ruling on an outcome of the game.
