Details are coming out regarding former UFC heavyweight Jairzinho Rozenstruik’s arrest in Florida earlier this week on charges of false imprisonment and domestic violence.
According to police reports gathered by local Florida news outlets, an incident took place on Monday between Rozenstruik and his wife, who is also the mother of his two children. The two were in the car after visiting a storage unit when an argument broke out that allegedly led to Rozenstruik slapping his wife’s hand multiple times, knocking her phone to the car floor.
When the wife attempted to get out of the car, Rozenstruik allegedly grabbed her arm and prevented her from leaving. He did the same thing again later in their drive. A statement given to the police by the fighter claims she punched him in the face multiple times at this point, which his wife later confirmed as an act of self-defense.

Rozenstruik’s wife also stated he tried to kiss her during the argument, and then bit her on the arm when she refused the affection. The police report says she had a “visible bite mark on her right bicep, redness on her forearms, and a scratch / bruise mark under her right eye.”
Rozenstruik was arrested the same day as the incident on battery and kidnapping/false imprisonment charges and held on $3500 bail … plus a 48-hour immigration hold. As of Thursday morning, WPLG Local 10 News says Rozenstruik, who was born in Paramaribo, Suriname, is still in Broward County Main Jail due to the immigration hold.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik, also known by his fighter nickname “Bigi Boy,” competed in the UFC from 2019 to 2025 where he amassed a 9-6 record. A stinker of a fight with Sergei Pavlovich in Saudi Arabia led to his removal from the UFC roster, and since then he’s fought twice for Mike Perry and Jon Jones’ Dirty Boxing Championship, where he is 2-0 and the current DBX heavyweight champ.
