A former UFC heavyweight contender spent some time behind bars on Monday in South Florida.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik, known to many MMA fans as "Bigi Boy," was arrested in Pembroke Pines, Fla., outside of Miami, on charges of battery and false imprisonment, according to Broward County arrest records. Rozenstruik, a native of Suriname, was placed in immigration hold Tuesday.
Pembroke Pines Police Department confirmed the arrest after MMA Junkie requested an arrest report Wednesday. This story will be updated to reflect new details if an arrest report is acquired.
Rozenstruik, 37, competed 15 times in the UFC from February 2019 to February 2025. The promotion parted ways with him following a defeat to Sergei Pavlovich despite him being 2-1 in his final three UFC bouts. After his release, Rozenstruik fought twice under the Dirty Boxing Championship banner and won both times.
