Here are the scores and recaps for the Pennsbury-Neshaminy Class 6A state semifinal of the PIAA Baseball Championships that started June 1, as well as first- and quarterfinal-round results for Bucks County area teams. Nine Bucks area schools won their playoff openers, seven made it to the quarterfinals and five reached the semifinals, including a pair of longtime Lower Bucks rivals, and at least one is headed to the state final.

Class 6A


Semifinals: Monday, June 8

(1-4) Neshaminy2
, (1-1) Pennsbury 1: In the fifth meeting this season between the longtime rivals, the Falcons scored a third-inning run and led for half the game but Neshaminy answered with two in the top of the seventh to prevail in dramatic fashion at Villanova Ballpark. As a result, Neshaminy gets to play for its first state baseball championship Thursday afternoon at Penn State after losing in the state semifinals in 2025 and '19.

"These guys deserve it," said Neshaminy head coach Dan Toner. "They broke through to get to the final."

In the top of the seventh, Neshaminy (20-7) evened the score on an infield single by senior first baseman Noah Wallace and senior pitcher Matt Gryn hit by pitch. Running on the pitch, Wallace scored on a fielder's choice from senior center fielder Nick Sassano. Courtesy runner Dylan Hollenbach, a senior, went to third on a fly ball by senior designated hitter Dylan Cloud and scored on a two-out wild pitch for a 2-1 advantage.

Pennsbury plated the game's first run in the bottom of the third when senior first baseman Nolan Kolanko singled, went to second on sophomore first baseman Finn Burke's sacrifice bunt and scored on senior shortstop Carlton Crane's single up the middle.

Gryn allowed a one-out single to Pennsbury junior center fielder Danny Seidler but induced the final two outs to secure the victory. Gryn, a lefthander, gave up six hits, no walks and struck out two in an efficient 75-pitch complete game.

Neshaminy loaded the bases in the fourth on two-out walks to senior third baseman Brandon Lall, junior right fielder Dan Marable and an infield single by Gryn, but Pennsbury senior Keller Bradley ended the inning with a strikeout.

Vanderbilt commit Bradley allowed just two hits in going the distance. He walked three and struck out five while throwing 108 pitches. Crane had two hits for the Falcons.

The Falcons won the District One title for the first time since 2017, when it went on to take the state championship in the first year with six PIAA classifications. The 24-3 Falcons, who secured the 2026 SOL Patriot title with a 13-2 divisional record, scored 42 runs (10.5 average) in four district wins, reaching double figures three times. Thet had won three of the first four meetings against Neshaminy.

Championship game: Thursday, June 11

(1-4) Neshaminy vs. TBA
at Penn State, 4:30 p.m.: Neshaminy, which made it to states for the third straight season, finished second in the SOL Patriot with a 12-3 mark. Neshaminy (20-7) won two games at states a year ago as the fourth seed before falling to North Penn 1-0 in the semifinals at Villanova Ballpark.

Quarterfinals: Thursday, June 4

(1-1) Pennsbury 2, (2-1) Hazleton0
: The Falcons scored a run in the top of the third inning at Easton High to take the lead and went on to advance. Pennsbury (24-2) went ahead on junior Pierce Perry's RBI single that plated sophomore Finn Burke, who had doubled. Burke reached second again in the seventh on an error and came across on senior Carlton Crane's single. Hazleton loaded the bases twice, including with one out in the fourth, on junior pitcher Quinton Shaffer, but Shaffer induced a popout and called third strike to maintain the 1-0 lead. Schaffer, who struck out the side in the third, went 4⅓ innings, allowing three hits and striking out eight.

Junior Owen Hawkes, who earned the win in relief against Neshaminy at districts with 5⅓ innings of one-hit ball, inherited two runners and got a pair of deep flyouts sandwiched around a walk. Hazleton (18-5) put its first two on base in the seventh, but a successful pickoff at second, a flyout and strikeout looking by Hawkes ended the game. Junior Danny Seidler had two hits. Junior Henry Garlits made a diving catch in left field with one out in the bottom of the sixth, then threw to second base for the inning-ending double play. Garlits added a double for the Falcons.

(1-4) Neshaminy3, (12-1) La Salle 0: Senior Matt Gryn's two-run single in the fifth inning at Villanova Ballpark helped Neshaminy reach the semifinals for the second year in a row. Senior Chase Bonner, the two-time SOL Patriot Player of the Year, threw 6⅔ shutout innings and allowed two hits, three walks and struck out seven for Neshaminy before reaching the 105-pitch limit. Senior Jared Kligerman recorded a three-pitch strikeout to close it out.

The Explorers loaded the bases in the bottom of the third inning with two outs, but Bonner induced a grounder back to him. Senior Brycen Clarke had both of the La Salle hits. Senior Drew Welsh (one inning, one unearned run) and junior Grant Budurka (six innings, one walk, one strikeout) pitched for La Salle. Neshaminy, which had eight hits, scored in the top of the first on two walks, an error and a wild pitch. Twin brothers Mike and Nick Sassano (double) had two hits apiece for Neshaminy (19-7).

The 22-3 Explorers earned the District 12 championship by defeating Central of the Public League 10-0 in six innings. La Salle, which went 11-1 during the Catholic League regular season, outlasted Conwell-Egan 7-6 for the PCL title.

First round: June 1

(1-1) Pennsbury 6, (3-4) Ephrata 1: Senior Carlton Crane paced the 23-2 Falcons with two hits, including a double, and junior Brendan Zuckerman and senior Nolan Kolanko each had doubles and RBIs. Junior Henry Garlits also contributed a hit and RBI. Pennsbury senior ace Keller Bradley allowed three hits and an unearned run in six innings, walking three and striking out nine. Junior Owen Hawkes handled the seventh, getting three strikeouts.

(1-4) Neshaminy 4, (11-1) William Allen 2:Neshaminy scored twice in the third and fourth innings to outlast Allen at DeSales University. Senior pitcher Matt Gryn went the distance, allowing three hits, one walk and striking out two. Senior Mike Sassano had two hits and an RBI for Neshaminy (18-7), while senior Noah Wallace and Gryn added one apiece. Neshaminy, which played error-free ball, was helped by Allen's five errors.

(12-1) La Salle11, (1-3) Pennridge 0 (5 innings): The host Explorers broke the game open with a 10-run fourth inning. Senior designated hitter Matt Wambold (two doubles) had a bases-clearing double in the fourth, with senior outfielder Caden Schmidt, the Philadelphia Catholic League Offensive Player of the Year, contributing a two-run double and RBI single. Senior catcher Luke Borgmann added a two-run single in the inning and sophomore outfielder Michael O'Connor had an RBI single. Senior pitcher Cooper Weiss went the distance for 22-2 La Salle, allowing two hits – a line-drive single to Pennridge senior designated hitter Ascher Hamburg and a bunt single to senior third baseman Brayden Robinson.

The 19-7 Rams, who won the SOL Colonial with a 13-2 regular season record, had last made it to states in 2016 as the District One 4A champ.

Class 4A​


Semifinals: Monday, June 8

(1-1) Holy Ghost Prepvs. (4-1) Montoursville
at Blue Mountain HS: The Firebirds won a pair of district playoff games to earn their second trip to states in three years. HGP (15-9) secured the 2024 state title led by a stellar contingent of sophomores that are now seniors ... Montoursville (19-4) downed Boiling Springs 4-2 in the quarterfinals.

(12-2) Archbishop Wood vs. (7-1)Indiana Area at Greene Township Park, Scotland: The Vikings ended up with a 9-3 PCL record and advanced to the PCL semifinals. Wood (18-4) won twice at states in 2023 before losing to Dallas in the semifinals. ... Indiana (20-4), which hasn't allowed a run in five postseason games (districts and states), downed Hopewell 10-0 in six innings in the quarterfinals.

Championship: Thursday, June 11

Quarterfinals: Thursday, June 4

(1-1) Holy Ghost Prep 6, (2-1) Mid Valley 2
: The Firebirds scored three runs in the top of the first inning en route to the victory at DeSales. Senior Matt Baker had a double and two RBIs for HGP (15-9), while junior Jonathan Posivak contributed two hits with two RBIs, and senior Tyler Bergkoetter was 4 for 4 with an RBI. Seniors Mat Riendeau (3⅔ innings, two hits), junior Christopher Schnauffer (2⅓ innings, one hit, two unearned runs) and senior Bam McNabb (one inning, one hit) handled the pitching duties. ... Mid Valley (19-6) downed East Pennsboro 7-6 with three seventh-inning runs in the opening round.

(12-2)Archbishop Wood 3, (6-1) Bellefonte 1: Senior Chase Cavallaro's three-run homer in the top of fifth gave the Vikings all the runs they would need at Memorial Field in Hershey. Sophomore Jackson Kley and junior Shane Broadwater scored on Cavallaro's home run, with senior Caden Vacca providing a double for Wood. Senior Andrew Unrath started and went the first four innings for the Vikings (18-4), allowing three hits, one earned run, walking one and striking out six. Senior Jack Coughlin handled the final three, giving up one hit, no walks and striking out three. ... Bellefonte (18-4) defeated Elizabeth Forward 11-1 in five innings in the first round.

First round: June 1

(3-3) Boiling Springs 8, (12-1) Conwell-Egan 0
: The host Eagles dropped their state playoff opener without Philadelphia Catholic League MVP Brady Guzzie, who pulled his hamstring in the PCL championship game. Senior Jake McClain had the lone hit for 14-5 CEC, which committed five errors and used five pitchers. ... Conwell-Egan earned the top district seed with a 10-2 record in the PCL regular season and by reaching the Catholic League championship game. The Eagles won the first state playoff game in school history two years ago.

(12-2) Archbishop Wood 2, (3-1) Northern Lebanon 1: The 17-4 Vikings gave host Northern Lebanon (23-1) its first loss of the season. Senior Brady Sell was terrific on the mound, allowing just two hits, no earned runs, one walk and striking out 11, including the last batter looking to end the game. Senior Caden Vacca (two hits) had Wood's initial RBI on a first-inning fielder's choice and scored the winning run in the sixth. Senior AJ Hopkins (double) and junior Averell Walls each contributed two hits.

(1-1)Holy Ghost Prep12, (11-1) Northwestern Lehigh0 (5 innings): The host Firebirds rolled to victory with seniors Bam McNabb (four innings, one walk, five strikeouts) and Dalton Dydak (two strikeouts) combining for a five-inning no-hitter. Senior Matt Evans went 3 for 3 with two doubles and three RBIs, while senior Eddie Rosado contributed two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs for 14-9 HGP, which scored seven runs in the third inning. Senior Tyler Bergkoetter had a double and three RBIs, while junior Preston Connors provided two hits and two RBIs.

Class 2A​


Quarterfinals: Thursday, June 4

(3-1)Halifax 4, (1-1) Faith Christian 3:
The two-time defending state champion Lions (18-5) had chances to rally but a bases-loaded flyout ended the game. Faith received a two-run single in the top of the first inning by sophomore Logan Labs, but Halifax went ahead with three runs in the fourth at Blue Mountain. Labs later contributed an RBI triple. Faith went 11-1 in the BAL regular season. ... Halifax (23-1) topped South Williamsport 7-6 in the first round.

First round: June 1

(1-1) Faith Christian 15,(12-1) Masterman 0 (3 innings)
: The two-time defending state champion Lions were dominant, led by home runs from senior Brandon Labs and junior Hunter Herr, who provided three RBIs apiece. Sophomore Logan Labs contributed a bases-clearing triple, double and four RBIs. Junior Jagger Verbit scored three runs and had a triple, with junior Maddox Bauz adding two RBIs. Junior Justin Murray (two innings, two strikeouts) and freshman Ethan Snyder (one inning, three strikeouts) combined on a three-inning no-hitter for Faith (18-4).

Class A​


Semifinals: Monday, June 8

(1-1) Dock Mennonite vs. (6-2) Homer Center
at Lycoming Valley Intermediate School, Williamsport: Dock (13-5) repeated as district champs with a 4-0 victory over Plumstead Christian. The Pioneers finished 10-2 in the BAL. ... Homer Center (15-10) throttled MMI 21-3 in three innings in the quarterfinals.

Championship: Friday, June 12

Semifinal winners at Penn State, 10:30 a.m.

Quarterfinals: Thursday, June 4

(1-1) Dock Mennonite 10, (11-1) NativityBVM 4:
The Pioneers scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning and four in the second to take control. Freshman Mason Bicht had four hits, including a double, and four RBIs to pace Dock (13-5). Junior Ethan Kratz went 3 for 3 with a triple and RBI, while junior Drew Bradica. sophomore Ian McGrady and freshman Hezekiah Guengerich (double) each had two hits and an RBI. Junior Jackson Korne (4⅓ innings, three hits, no earned runs) and Bicht (2⅔ innings, five strikeouts) shared the pitching duties. ... Nativity BVM (8-15) defeated Benton 9-0 in the opening round.

First round: June 1

(1-1) Dock Mennonite 7, (3-1) York Christian 4
: Junior Ethan Kratz had three hits, including a triple, and freshman Mason Bicht contributed a double among his two hits and two RBIs for the visiting Pioneers, who scored three runs in the seventh inning to break a 4-4 tie. Senior Riley Kling went the distance, allowing nine hits, walking none and striking out six for Dock (12-5).
