New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte disclosed the reason why he missed OTAs on Tuesday.

According to CLNS, Boutte stated that his absence from the organized team activities was due to a private matter.

"It was just a personal decision,” Boutte said. At the end of the day, that was voluntary.”

Boutte has been the subject of trade speculations dating back to last April, with rumors growing once talks of the Patriots trading for then-Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown intensified. The Louisiana native is approaching the final year of his four-year, $4 million deal with the Patriots.

The Patriots have two more minicamp practices for Boutte to take part in this spring before the team reconvenes for training camp on July 25. Boutte now gets the opportunity to round into form with the Patriots’ new-look roster for the remainder of the offseason.
