Mike Vrabel and the New England Patriots will continue to be known for their efforts on the defensive side of the football. Vrabel, a defensive-minded head coach, proved that in his first season at the helm in New England a year ago.

The Patriots, who made the Super Bowl, have to feel pretty confident in something similar happening if they can continue to impress on that side of the football.

New England has already made some big-time moves this offseason, namely going out to land A.J. Brown. It remains uncertain if they want to make another blockbuster deal, but ESPN recently floated the idea of doing so by making a trade with the New York Giants.

“I included a Thibodeaux trade in this same story last year. One year and another first-round edge rusher later, he's now an even more obvious candidate to be dealt.

“Thibodeaux is playing on his $14.75 million fifth-year option and is set to be a free agent at the end of this season. While there was an argument for having him as a third edge rusher behind Brian Burns and Abdul Carter in the past, New York now also has first-round pick Arvell Reese, who plays linebacker and edge. To keep Thibodeaux around at this price point to potentially be the team's No. 4 edge rusher isn't ideal,” Seth Walder of ESPN wrote.

Thibodeaux is very highly regarded, but he's coming off a season in which he wasn't as good as he typically is.

The Giants have a very elite defense, but he's coming off a campaign in which he posted just 2.5 sacks and 25 total tackles in only 10 games. This would be somewhat of a buy-low opportunity for New England and a sell-low situation for the Giants.

In the right system and healthy, however, this feels like a guy who can post 10-plus sacks and be among the elite in the NFL once again.
