Patrick Mahomes shared a cheeky reason he wouldn't pick Travis Kelce to go on vacation.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, 30, sat down with GQfor an interview published on Monday, June 29 to talk about his summer favorites, such as mac and cheese at a cookout and having the new Drake album Iceman on repeat, and was asked which of his teammates he'd most want to go on a vacation with.

At first, Mahomes said, "Obviously, the easy answer is Travis [Kelce]," before changing his mind about the 36-year-old tight end.

"But now that he’s getting a little older, I’m going to go with one of the young guys," Mahomes said, ultimately deciding on wide receiver Xavier Worthy, because "he’s always having a good time."

Mahomes said Worthy, 23, "golfs now," and added, "And my kids love seeing him because he’s fast—they like watching him play."

Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, have become close friends with Kelce's fiancée, Taylor Swift, and the couples have been spotted spending time together in cities all over the world. In July 2024, Brittany and Patrick supported Swift at her concert in Amsterdam, one year before Swift was spotted at Brittany's 30th birthday celebration in Nashville, Tenn.

Despite Mahomes playfully calling his longtime pal and teammate Kelce "a little older," and picking his teammate ten years Kelce's junior, the Chiefs' superstar duo, who are also co-owners of the Kansas City steakhouse 1587, have done plenty of traveling together and likely have more trips planned for the future — especially now that Kelce is becoming a husband.

Swift, 36, has also spent time with the quarterback's children, he's shared. Mahomes told reporters in February 2025 that his son, Sterling, is a "big baker" like the "So High School" singer is, "so they make some stuff together sometimes."

Details about Kelce and Swift's upcoming wedding remain under wraps, but fans can expect to see the Chiefs quarterback and his wife celebrating their friends whenever the big day comes.
