Probably makes it a more dramatic movie with a reveal like that, etc.Sorry, I meant the same order of it happening, just that we don't see Pratt doing his thing for awhile. More that she opens up and does her thing (Pratt absent, then appearing) as if he's surprised (like the audience).
Then she finds audio/video logs/journals, eventual monologues or whatever, etc about his experiences, etc, revealing darker motivations.
The current way was okay, but it just didn't hit well, I'm sure it could still work that way too.
Trailers would probably ruin it anyway.
I was just wondering out loud if a character swap would have appeared less rapey. Like a woman needed a man to help her or make her feel safe, etc.
In the end I think it is all moot because she has a chance to go back into the medical pod and sleep and rejoin the rest of the colony when they wake up, but she chooses to stay with Pratt's character and live a full life with him in the remaining years before everyone else wakes up.
