The Dallas Wings were seeking some momentum, having lost five of their last six games and three straight before facing the Toronto Tempo on Wednesday.
Bueckers was asked about the Wings’ struggles before the game.
“That’s what we are trying to do. We are trying to stay grounded, stay present, stay positive. Every team gets a rough patch through the 44 game long season before the playoffs. It’s about how you respond to it,” Bueckers said.
The Wings had won six straight before the All-Star break, making their subsequent skid all the more surprising.
“Everybody was happy, everything was glitz and glam when we won 6 in a row, had tough wins on the road, tough wins in the 4th quarter,” bueckers said. “But how are you when you’re losing? Do you still show up to work with passion, with joy, with fire, with the intensity? So we are trying to stay together.”
