The Dallas Wings will be without two-time All-Star guard Paige Bueckers on Monday, July 20 when they take on the New York Liberty, a matchup that was originally set for last week before being postponed.
Bueckers was ruled out on Monday after she was involved in a scary collision in the Wing's 90-82 win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday. The incident happened with 3:33 remaining in the fourth quarter, when Sparks forward Nneka Ogwumike tripped and fell into Bueckers' midsection.
The impact of the collision caused Bueckers to hit her head on the court, but the Wings announced on Monday that extensive post-game evaluations determined she didn't sustain a concussion. As a result, Bueckers won't have to go through concussion protocol, but is sidelined by soreness.
Monday's matchup between the Wings and Liberty marks the second half of a back-to-back for the Wings. Dallas travels to Portland to take on the Fire on Wednesday before breaking for the 2026 WNBA All-Star game in Chicago, where Bueckers was voted an All-Star Game starter for Team Cynthia Cooper.

Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers left a 90-82 victory on Sunday after a collision withe Los Angeles Sparks forward Nneka Ogwumike.
Less than four minutes remained in the game when Ogwumike tripped after throwing a pass, causing her to fall into Bueckers’ midsection. The guard appeared to hit her head hard on the court, but walked off under her own power to the locker room and did not return.
After the game, coach Jose Fernandez said he didn’t have an update on Bueckers’ status, but that she was joking around in the locker room with teammate Azzi Fudd afterwards.
“She’s upset at Azzi because she said Azzi tripped (Ogwumike) and took away (Bueckers) charge,” Fernandez said.
The 2025 reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year is having a strong sophomore campaign, averaging career-highs in points (20.9), assists (6.3) and rebounds (4.2) per game through 24 starts, all while shooting a career-high 51.8% from the floor. Bueckers also became the fastest player in WNBA history to hit 1,000 points and 250 assists last month.
