Due to injuries along the offensive line, Green Bay Packers rookie Jager Burton continues to receive first-team reps at the guard position during the offseason workout program.

According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Burton received first-team reps at left guard while starter Aaron Banks sat out of Tuesday's minicamp practice. During last week's OTA session, Burton took first-team reps at right guard as the Packers shuffled through options with right tackle Zach Tom still recovering from offseason knee surgery.

Burton, a fifth-round pick out of Kentucky, played the majority of his snaps at center in college, but he also started games at guard -- likely giving him multi-position versatility on the interior of the offensive line. If nothing else, the Packers are getting an early look at how Burton operates at guard in a practice setting.

With everyone healthy, the Packers' expected offensive line is Jordan Morgan at left tackle, Banks at left guard, Sean Rhyan at center, Anthony Belton at right guard and Tom at right tackle. But Burton appears to be in prime position to handle one of the top backup roles, and it's possible he'll push to start should an injury hit or Rhyan or Belton struggle at their respective positions.

Banks battled injuries throughout his first season in Green Bay, Rhyan is a preferred starter at center for the first time in his career and Belton went through an up and down rookie season at guard. Given the question marks and injury rate along the offensive line, there's a good chance Burton will be called upon to play important snaps for the Packers at some point in 2026.
